I have had my budgie for around 2 weeks now, and I made a dumb mistake of purchasing a mediocre cage which is really hard to access and tame in. I now, bought a new medium sized vision nice cage, to place my budgie in, but how do I go about this? I tried just letting him go and having both doors open so he can do it himself, but he will not. He's gotten comfortable and I do not really want to grab him and move him unless there is no other choice. Please help? he will not eat millet or fresh foods yet so I can't lure him out of it. and when I just let him do it himself, he doesn't even wanna come down from his perch. Not sure what to do.

I was wondering if maybe taking out her toys and putting them into the new one with the brige down would urge him to want to go inside the cage or whether he'll still be scared and just bored.

Your budgie is used to his old familiar cage and it's a space he feels safe in.

You can place the new cage opposite the old cage, so the doors are quite close and see if your budgie will just hop across.
You can also remove some of the toys and bits and put it in the new cage. Do this and let your budgie see what you are doing. While he's out, you can also add the seed container in the new cage (be aware that if you're using the vision cage's food pots and you're budgie isn't used to going on the floor to eat, you might need to attach food and water to the cage bars). Your budgie is likely to want to explore something new.
As you have no urgent rush, it'll be good to just let him go in naturally and by himself.
If he chooses to go to his old safe cage for now, that's fine.

He is in his new cage. Was not an easy transition and he was scared, but when I went to take a toy he kinda freaked out and flew into the new cage. Of course, it may have hurt my taming process, but I have confidence I will get it back. Thanks!

Just don't rush and you'll get there. The Training and bonding section of the forum will offer advice if you have issues.

I'll close this thread now your issue is resolved.
