Default Trixie playgym: hygiene issue

This seems minor to make a post about, but my birdies have a Trixie Playgym which I was drawn to because it's natural wood. Ollie and Daisy love to pass time stripping the bark from the wood but because the wood isn't smooth and has uneven bark all over it I find it very hard to keep clean. I even considered packing it away. I was wondering if anyone else has tips on cleaning rough uneven wood. It's a lot harder to clean than a natural wood perch for e.g.

Here's a picture of the play gym

Thanks,
Bee

Bee,

For rough wood cleaning I just use an old toothbrush and scrub the wood with undiluted white vinegar.

You can then let it air dry before the budgies play on it.

I agree with above, if you get a small brush like a nailbrush that would also be good for cleaning

Oh, thank you- I had never even thought of using those. I'll try that.

I must now buy a new toothbrush so I have an old one to use for all my cleaning!
