Default Advice on my new cage setup

Hello! I recently upgraded and added to my birds cage and was looking for any advice or recommendations on the setup! Any tips would be great! I have already designed this cage once but I dont think my last setup had enough items to keep her occupied and she seemed to not be to sure about moving from toy to toy. Her last cage allowed her to use the bars to move better than this one. I have one parakeet in here now but may look into getting another in the future after she is well hand tamed, thank you!

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure everything looked safe. She didnt seem to like the last setup much but I made better use of the sides with this one. I want to get a tree formation to come up about a foot off the bottom and hang some toys from it to to encourage her to use more of the cage other than just the top (her favorite place of course)

This was the old setup, really only the top had anything worth exploring. I was at petco and noticed their budgies loving a chain so I went online and found 100 links for only about $3 🤤 . I ordered some and it really helps bring some fun to lower parts of the cage. I also found some side mounting toys that helped, bells are birdies favorite thing and shes got lots. Shes my alarm clock in the morning!

The cage set up looks wonderful now.

A cautionary word though that getting her very hand tame and then introducing a new bird afterwards can cause some loss of a bond between you. Stepping up and other commands she should be fine with completing still but if you want her to favour your company other her bird companion, it may not happen. This may not b an issue for you of course, but some people want very tame birds who want to spend the most time with them.
It's also worth reviewing some of the stickies regarding introducing a new bird friend and quarantine etc.

Oh and if you reply to a comment and then wish to make additional comments, rather than posting another reply, please edit the previous post. Thanks.

That cage looks great! Even though she may struggle with the bars a little more it may encourage her to fly to different perches or toys. Did her old cage have horizontal bars? Because I've always had my girls in a cage with vertical bars, it's a little trickier for them to climb with but they do alright and it's an extra challenge for them.

Thank you for putting the 3 posts together! Ill be sure to edit next time. Im not too worried about losing a bond, as long as I can handle her to get her to the vet and such Im good. I think I would have more fun watching two than handling them my only holdback so far has been the quarantine process, I don't really have an extra room to quarantine in and if they end up hating another I don't have space for an extra large cage.

As for the cage bars, her other cage has two sides of horizontal and two of vertical. She usually climbed along the bars to get where she wanted to go. She still hasn't started exploring the new setup yet, just flying between her two old swings. Should I pull one of them out to encourage her to explore or just give her time to look around?

Also, is there any harm in housing a bird beside a covered fish tank? I haven't been able to find anything on the topic.
