All mirrors have been removed from the cage. I noticed Claire getting a little aggressive with one of them so pulled it out immediately.

I don't know is who makes this cage I think A and E makes it seems to be a very sturdy cage cost me $99 I got a great deal on it

if you take a look at my post you can see my home set up for my budgies. I tried to upload it here but got a error message.

Default One month in new cage - significant breakthrough!

Hi everyone.. so Jamie and Claire have been in their new cage now for a full month and they appear to be loving it. At first they were a little hesitant to fly the length from one perch to the other and now they are flying like like old pros!

Saturday was a significant breakthrough for Claire! All afternoon she seemed extra interested in me. I always talk to them through out the day and usually she is pretty oblivious to my presence but on Saturday she kept coming to the the side of the cage to get close to me when I spoke. I even moved from one end to the other and she followed me. Late in the afternoon when I had my arm inside the cage filling their food dishes, etc. she fluttered over my arm. I thought it was by accident because she quickly went back to the perch. She did it a second time which caught my interest. I left my arm in the cage and sure enough, she did it a third time but this time she actually landed on my forearm. She lightly pecked my skin and sat there for about 30 secs before going back to the perch. My heart was racing!! She did it again yesterday. I tried putting some food in my palm and placed it inside the cage. She flew to my hand and sat there and ate.

I always thought Jamie would be the first one to do this so I'm shocked that it's Claire. My little shy girl. I want to mention that I'm very careful to not let her out of the cage when doing this and make sure the door is closed as much as possible. Watching her build trust in me is the most rewarding feeling ever! Hopefully Jamie will follow suit!

Wow, that's great! It sounds like your girls are settling in very well How wonderful that Claire is coming out of her shell and has decided to make the first move!

You've done such a great job with them Congratulations on the breakthrough!
