Default adjustment period

Just a addition to my last post, I hope getting Oz and Charlie a new house wont stress them too much.

Charlie is almost 5 and Oz is 3.5 years old. They have been in their new house for 12 hours now. They seem to be ok they don't move around a whole lot but they're looking around and cleaning themselves & nibbling on millet and their treat sticks

I hope that a new home isn't too stressful for them??

Here are a couple more pictures I took just now, I really appreciate if anybody can chime in here let me know about stress with a new house and if what I'm experiencing with them as normal.

Also when I covered them up for the night and uncovered them this morning they were in the same place they were when I covered them up. Occasionally they do that but they don't seem scared they just aren't moving around a whole lot.

I hope they'll realize where their food is?? I've got new food bowls but I put food in the old Bowls in the same place as where their food was in their other cage hoping that they'll recognize some things and maybe play around with the new things and get used to their place here's a couple more pictures I took this morning relatively happy in there big house

Here's a picture of the new food bowls I bought

they custom-made these bowls I like them because the birds can't get in the bowl and flutter around and throw seed all over the floor

I hope these two go get used to using them

although I did put their old food bowls in the new house in the same places that they were before the move

I hope that helps them recognize where their food is

They are experimenting now with things and moving around some....

Those look great I'm sure they're very happy with their new cage, it can be a bit overwhelming for some budgies at first seeing all the new things to play with/all the space!

I'm glad they're moving around more now Surely within the next few days they'dve settled in some more

Very cool foodbowls, by the way!

Hi Mark, as I mentioned in your post about the new cage... some budgies will take more time than others to adjust to new surroundings. Budgies regularly go from breeders to pet shops to new homes, and sometimes several homes. Or... new cages . One thing to remember, is that birds are extremely resilient and adaptable in new situations. Iíve witnessed this many, many times over the years with my parrots and budgies. Oz and Charlie will be just fine. Actually, they should be more than ďfineĒ in their new deluxe mansion with lots of fun areas to explore! ...and yes, theyíll find their way to the food and water very soon if they havenít already by now.

Default food water

Yes thank you RavensGryf, they are sitting in one area most of the day and yes, they are eating Millet and treat sticks and a ear of corn However, they are not roaming the place too much

they seem to stay in one area together BUT....... they do venture around SLOWLY........ I hope as a few days pass that they will explore alot more. I tried to not clutter their place to much... It is what I feel is tastefully done ( and very very clean) I clean it 3 x a day

I did put my finder in there and Oz ( the blue one) she is very sweet and somewhat shy but she does let me handle her. I did take her over to the other side and showed her where the warter bowl is and food bowls ect.... she tilted her head as to watch what I was showing her but..... soon after made her way back to the corner that they feel safe in.

I did my best to put their favorite toys and Mirror ( yes Mirror) these 2 are NOT obsessed with it and they seem to recognize these things... I just did not think this move would stress them I figured they would be like kids in a candy store because they have so much room, new toys, treat sticks ect...

They dont seem upset I see them playing, eating ect... they are just venturing out slow and that surprised me

I also worry because for 3 years they were in that other good size house and I can clearly see they are territorial and have certain places they like especially at night... So it seems they need to get comfy again

This is the last house they need thats for sure.........
