Hi all! I'm new here but I've been taking care of budgies for a while. This is my current setup for my 2 talking budgies, Basil and Lyssandra
It's 5ft x 2ft x 3ft / 150cm x 60cm x 91cm (L x B x H)
As you can see, there are some plants around the cage, but they're toxic, so I've to remove them before my fids' daily out-of-cage time. It's a hassle, so I was thinking of just having spider plants but IN
the cage, instead of around it.
However, I've read about Asper in soil, and I was wondering if there are any alternatives. Has anyone tried coco fibre mats, hydroponics, or something else? I'd like my fids to be able to destroy the plants if they want to, and stay safe.
If there aren't alternatives, I think I'll stick to hanging them outside of the cage, but with the leaves poking in.
