budieoz will become famous soon enough
Default size for 3

I would well assume that this cage would be plenty big for 3?? This is the first time I have had 3 ( we had 2) and had to get another because one passed away after 10 years of age

This cage is 36 wide and 48 tall

That is the standard size “flight cage”. Yes, it is fine for 3 budgies. But... keep in mind, it’s actually a better home for two buddies who get along well. Many times, when you have 3, two of them will bond and leave the third one out to get pushed around and picked on.

How about getting that cage for the two you have, and use your existing cage for the new one? (Then AFTER quarantine the cages can go in the same room).

I agree with RavensGryf completely.

Housing three budgies in one cage can be problematic as one is usually left out and/or bullied.

Additionally, as you have mixed genders you will also need to be extremely careful to do everything possible to prevent breeding.
