I'm the owner of three budgies:
- Sid, short for Sidney. He is grey and six years old.
- Stella. She is dark green and one and a half years old.
- Celeste. She is sky blue opaline, two and a half months old and the daughter of Sid and Stella.
I have owned Sid since 2014, but you never stop learning, so here I am, hoping to make the life of my budgies the best I can.
P.S. I'm sorry if I make grammar mistakes, English is not my first language (I'm Italian).

and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
My flock is actually more like an extended family.
Sid and Stella had a total of five chicks, but two of them died when they were very young for unknown causes. I could only keep three budgies (Sid, Stella and Celeste) so I had to give the other two chicks away:
- Oliva, who I gave to my grandparents, is a olive female. She shares the cage with Pippo, their 10-year-old peach-faced lovebird, but the two are separated by a dividing wall because they (he/she) are obviously aggressive towards her.
- Sunny, who I gave to my sister's friend, is a dark green female. She lives with Pinko, an adult cobalt male.
Hopefully the dividing wall in the cage between Olivia and Pippo is the sort than will prevent Pippo from biting Olivia's toes. I have both budgies and lovebirds so I know one must be very careful.
Please take the time to read through the Site Guidelines, all of the How To Guides, the FAQs, the Budgie Articles and the stickies located at the top of each section of the forum.
Truly, the very BEST advice anyone can offer you is to take the time to read ALL of the stickies throughout the various Talk Budgie forums as well as the Budgie Articles we have posted.
These are great resources for Talk Budgie members and have a wealth of reliable information which will assist you to learn the best practices in caring for your budgies for their optimal health and well-being.
When you upload pictures as attachments directly from your computer, tablet or phone, the forum automatically defaults to landscape. Additionally, the picture appears as what we term a “thumbnail” attachment.
Of course the dividing wall prevents Pippo from biting Oliva. They can see each other, when the lovebird is in the upper part of their half of the cage (the cage has two roofs, that have different heights), but they can't touch each other.
The guides and the articles on the forum are very helpful, really!
For example, I realized that the cage where Sid, Stella and Celeste live is too small for them.
It is 20 x 16 (inches), and it is a double roof cage, so the lower roof reaches the height of 21 and the higher roof reaches the height of 28.
I think it is around the minimum size for two budgies, so it clearly isn't big enough for three.
I can't guarantee that the budgies I gave away and their "roommates" will have cages of the right sizes, but I will try my best to get a suitable cage for Sid, Stella and Celeste.
And thank you for the guide about how to post full size pictures, I think I fixed the one I posted before.
