Ellayyz is on a distinguished road
Default Hello from Toronto

Hi, I am Ella and I recently acquired two darling young budgies - Prince (who is violet and white) and GG (who I was calling Green Guy and then GG just stuck). I adore these precious boys as they are very animated and funny. They are already eating broccoli and carrot as well as seeds and some apple. I am carefully following all the expert advice re taming (all hail the mighty and powerful millet spray) and things seem to be going well.
I will be full of questions as these are my first birds and I look forward to learning from you all and maybe someday being able to contribute as well.
Thanks for having us!
Ella

Hi Ella,
Welcome to the Forum, your 2 boys sound like a lot of fun, we would love to see pictures when you get a chance. There is a lot of great information in the stickies on many subjects, if you cannot find an answer to your questions in them please feel free to ask.

Hi and thanks again everyone. Here are (hopefully) some pics of my luvvies:

So the green one seems much younger and more timid. I can’t tell if it is male or female ....I was calling it Green Guy but now he/she is GG.

The violet and white one is much bolder and will sit on my finger for millet. I was calling him Prince but I am worried he is actually a she ....if so she will be Bella.

They are so sweet and chatter, natter, chirp and sqawk all day long. I just love them.

They are adorable!

I recommend you remove the wooden dowel perches in the cage and replace them with natural wooden perches of varying diameters to help prevent pressure sores.

The information in this link will give examples of better options for perches:
