Shivanya is on a distinguished road
Default I Lost My Lili

Hai everyone! Last Saturday, I bought a new toy for my budgies. I have four of them which are two male and two female. All I did was just hanging the new toy but i never expect my Lili (female) will fly away just like that. Lili never try to fly before when cleaning their cage or cleaning their toys even Lili loves to play with my finger and so on. It's really shocking me when Lili fly away and I couldn't catch it. I'm in deep sorrow since Lili is gone and keep waiting for it to come back to me. No sign shows me that Lili will come back to me and the most sadden part is Lulu(male) in sorrow too. Lulu will be looking fine when playing with other two budgies but when comes the time the other two intimating, Lulu just look at them and will keep itself alone by sitting at the corner of cage. I'm in totally confusion that should I buy another female budgie for Lulu or should I keep wait for my Lili?? Will Lili come back to me??? I really love Lili so much and now I miss so much.

Hi Shivanya
Sorry to hear that Lili is lost.
Read through this sticky for ideas of what to do to help find her and help prevent another bird escaping.
https://talkbudgies.com/lost-found/36...dgie-lost.html
Obviously, the longer they're missing the less chance there is of finding them but someone may have taken her in and be looking after her so I certainly wouldn't give up the search yet.

Best of luck

Take the time to look through the link JRS has provided you. If you haven't actively made any attempts to find Lili she may have been rescued by someone but if you're not letting people know you've lost her, there's no chance of getting her back.

I hope you are reviewing and change how you clean the cages out to ensure the safety of the other birds. Precautions are necessary at all times and just because a bird hasn't done something doesn't mean they won't.

At this time, do not get another budgie. Spend time trying to find Lili and letting Lulu adjust.

It's unfortunate that conditions were such that Lili was able to escape your home when you opened the cage door.
All windows and doors should always be closed and every precaution taken to avoid any mishaps.

You can't sit back and expect a budgie to return to you.
You must be as proactive as possible in order to find her and be reunited. The link JRS provided has invaluable information.
Contact your friends, neighbors, animal shelters, veterinarians, etc.
Make flyers and post them in the neighborhood. Do everything you can to locate Lili.

I strongly advise you not to get any additional budgies at this time.
Please read all of the Budgie Articles and the Stickies at the top of each section of the forum to learn the best practices for caring for the budgies you currently have.

I wish you all the best in locating Lili and bringing her back home.

Please keep us updated.
