Default RIP Gizmo

Hi All,

I'm not usually one for posting on the forums - I'm more of a read for info person. However I felt that I needed to share the amazing life of my cheeky boy Gizmo. He sadly died on the 31st December 2012 after taking him to the vets on the 26th. To say Im devestated is an understatement, he was only 2 years old and we had been through a lot together. Only a couple of weeks after bringing him home I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease, subsequently I spent a long time at home (I still do) feeling sick. He helped me through the pain and heartache of having my life turned upside down. He even used to sit on his perch by my side as I slept and felt unwell. He craved attention and I was extremely happy to give it to him, he was my little boy and I miss him like crazy. I still, even as I type, keep expecting him to fly into the room and land on my head. I know that I'm not the only person to lose their special bird, but I just felt I needed to share my story with people who understand what its like to lose the apple of their eye.

Rest in peace Cheeky Boy, Mummy bird misses you very much xxxxxx

Oh I am so sad for you. I know what it is to lose a beloved budgie - it doesn't matter how long they live, if you are as close as you were to Gizmo.
Please accept my deep sympathy in your great loss of Gizmo - I know he was very special

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Gizmo. It truly is devastating to lose a special friend, no matter how long or short they have been with us. You obviously had a very meaningful relationship with him. ((hug))

May your memories of him bring you comfort.

Fly high and free little Gizmo.

Gizmo sounded like a great little feller. I'm so sorry you lost him. It is only natural to miss him so much, especially when he was such a friend and comfort to you in your illness.

It is so hard losing a feathered friend. It is obvious you loved him lots and are missing him so much. I would urge you to think about getting another feathered friend as a compliment to the love you felt and still feel for little Gizmo. This is the downside of loving such wonderful characters but the love we get far outweighs the sadness ih the end.

It will be lovely to hear that you have a new companion when you feel ready-
all of us on Talkbudgie know how you feel at the moment and wish you well at this sad time. Hold your memories close.
