I m a new member on this great forum. Last year we bought the most beautiful English budgie .... My youngest loves birds and takes great care and time with them. She had him fully hand trained and he was gentle and sweet. He d perch on her shoulder ans watch telly with her. He wasn't a great flyer as he had a slightly damaged tail. By pure fluke he got out of our sunroom aviary and one of our border terriers got him. It was a one in a million chance that he escaped .... A tiny feeding area that my bigger dod knocked against and slightly opened. Poor Harrington must have got out through it. I thought my heart would break when I found him. I couldn't tell my daughter what happened .... Only that he must have been sick. That was six months ago. We buried him with a letter telling him what he meant to us near the sea. I ve honestly never come across a budgie like him and I ve had many. We talk about him often and yes he was my favourite . I hope he is flying now with an undamaged tail and that he calls by to see us every now and then. Just one little bird but missed beyond words
I am so sorry for your loss. Harrington was a special bird. I know exactly how you feel. I miss my Harry so much. Since they were such sweet, special birds, maybe they are together, flying around up in heaven. That gives me comfort and I hope you feel that way too.
