Gazell is on a distinguished road
Unhappy RIP Brita

I owned a male and female budgie, both of about 1-2 years old. My female was doing perfectly fine, she has/had 3 baby budgies and 2 eggs. But today my dad said she was dead and I went to take a look. He said she was normal, playing around with the male around 1pm. And it was about 4, when she died. She was still warm, so recently she had died. . Her beak was a bit open and her eyelids were half-way closed. . She was upside down, face up, very still. It seems as if she was on the second perch ands fell off. What could be the reason she died? Could it have been she was scared and stressed out or died or dehydration or hunger? (She did have food and water) Or could she have been egg bound, but she had been with 2 eggs since about 2 days ago, there wasn't no extra eggs in the nest... hno:

I'm very sorry for the loss of your little budgie.

The only way to know for sure what caused your little budgie's death would be to have a necropsy done by an Avian Vet.
Her death may have been caused a stroke, heart failure or some illness she had that you didn't know about.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

If she hadn't laid and egg for two days there is a chance that she might have been ready to lay another but not been able to, but the only way to know for sure, as FaeryBee said, is to get a necropsy done.

I'm so sorry for your loss... You have my deepest sympathies. It's possible she had an heart attack. Many years ago, I also had a female raising a family and she died very unexpectedly. I saw her leave the nest at lightning speed and fall hard to the cage's floor, lifeless. It was devastating and I know how bad you must be feeling. I hope her chicks will be able to survive.
Rest in peace, Brita.

So sad to hear about Brita. Very shocking when death happens so suddenly to one of our feathered pals. Fly high little bird x
