I am so sorry you lost your budgie. It hurts so much when someone
we love is called home. I don't think it was your fault that your bird died.
You say she was sick when you bought her 10 months ago? If that is true,
you bought a sick bird. You didn't make her sick. You tried to help her.
On the other hand, 10 months is a long time for a little bird to survive with
an illness, which makes me wonder about that. You say you didn't take her
to a vet. That is the one thing that you had the power to do to impact
the situation, but I'm sure you would have if you had been able to. What
the actual truth of your budgie's health may be we will never know. What
I do know is that you pulled this poor little bird out of a shop where her
care was questionable and gave her 10 months of love. That's pretty special.
Tonight your budgie is flying free with our growing flock of beauties at The
Rainbow Bridge. If she was sick, she is now in perfect health and waiting
to see you again when the time is right. And I've no doubt she will thank
you for loving her, which is a very special thing to little budgies. Tonight
I know you feel her absence very keenly, and your heart must hurt. Perhaps
there will be another budgie -- a healthy one -- in your future for you to
love. I hope so, as a loving home is too special to let stand empty for too
long in my opinion, and nothing helps the heart to start healing than a new
bird when the time is right. In any case, you and your little bird will be in
my thoughts and prayers tonight
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And never regret anything that made you smile.
