Ladoo is on a distinguished road
Default Did she suffer?

My sweet little budgie Ladoo recently died. I came home to find the cage empty, which isn't unusual as I keep my two budgies in the living room with their cage open. I looked for her for half an hour before I found her in the toilet, dead. I burst out crying out if sadness, disbelief and pity for the poor thing. Her wings were clipped but since she was moulting she could now fly better. It would have never crossed my mind to have closed the bathroom door or even toilet cover because they never fly to that area of the house.

My poor baby probably fell in and couldn't get out. What pains me the most is that she was helpless an probably tried to fly out but couldn't and that drowning is a terrible death. From anyone's experiences, do you think she suffered for long? I hope it was quick.

RIP Ladoo, I miss you and wish you hadn't gone the way you did.

I'm so sorry. Losing Ladoo like that must have
been a terrible shock. I should think her transition
would have been a quick one. Once feathers are
soggy, they don't help much.

Life is just like that. Tragedies happen, we mourn
and we learn. It may be that in posting of your loss
of Ladoo, you have warned other budgie owners and
saved many other little lives.

I send you much sympathy tonight. Ladoo was a little
bird who knew good care and much love, and that's
the best life a little bird can have, even if it was cut short.

And welcome to Talk Budgies. I'm sorry it's under such
sad circumstances, but please stay with us? We're glad
you found us.
