Default My sweet Diego is gone

I am totally heartbroken! He was making weird gurgling sounds like there was water in his throat or nostrils, I tried helping but only made it worse! He passed in my lap in the middle of the night. I'm so upset I've been crying. He was my baby, never had a bird love me back like he did. In the mornings, I would lift his blanket and open the cage door...he would leap out, go under the covers and snuggle next to me. He did this everyday. He always wanted to cuddle. I feel so stupid, maybe if I hadn't tried to help he would have gotten what was in there out, perhaps by sneezing it out. He couldn't breathe at all! He was gasping for breath and then passed in a few minutes.

If any of you know how much I loved Pixie, times that by a hundred, that's how much i love this bird.

We buried him in the yard.

He was a lovebird for those who don't know.

I'm sad to say, but I'm finished with birds now. I told myself if anything happened to my baby, I'm done. I am going to find Bentley a new home. And my budgies have been under the care of my sister for quite some time now, as my parents made her, it was becoming stressful for me. So I don't see them anymore. It will be difficult, but it's better for me and it will be better for him. I will look for the best home possible. If anyone of you live in edmonton or are willing to drive, let me know.

Bye my sweet baby! It was Gods will to take you. I hope you are happy wherever you are. I've been crying so much, missing you.

Oh, goodness... I am so sorry to hear that... He was a beautiful bird, there was nothing you could have done differently, these things happen unfortunately.
Please don't give Bentley away, he needs you and you need him. You are a good bird owner, it was just an unfortunate occurrence.

Thanks everyone, but I'm pretty sure I'm finished now. As some of you know, my parents think going to a vet is a waste and will do nothing. When something happens to these little I have to deal with it myself. It's very stressful and depressing. I don't take my pets death well. I have university over top of this and it gets to be too much. I have gotten a reply from a seniors home. Apparently the cockatiel died and was older than 25 , the other one is lonely. The old people would love his tunes. I'm just worried about it...apparently he had a lot of feather loss as he got old. Which doesn't seem normal...so I'm not sure if this is the right option.

Anyways...I can't believe he's gone, no more cuddles and kisses and silly conversations with him. I feel so sad.

Oh this is so sad. Perhaps when you are independent and can make you own decisions you will think of having a feathered friend again. Don't rush into any decisions about Bentley unless he really seems to pine in which case it may be ideal for him to befriend the parrot in the home and help everyone to be happy.
Fly free lovely Diego and take care Bentley
