Unhappy Finch's escaped...

sadly my 4 favorite finches ( 2 gouldians and 2 fire tails) have escaped today (08 sep) when we were cleaning thier cage. i am hoping they will be alrite but, its quiet obvious they will not. they were beutiful birds ( my first finches) not much hope of getting them back =(

Cutie Pie, Olive, Budgie, Baby Boy, Star, Pepper, Ariel, Oscar, Charlie, Little One, Chiclet.
Cutie Pie, Olive, Ariel, Little One and Chiclet are children of Budgie and Oscar.
Budgie and Star left us in 2009. Pepper and Oscar left us this year, 2010. 2018 and all are gone. Ariel and Cutie Pie died this Feb and March. Both over 11 years old.

This is quite sad knowing Gouldians are endagered species. I am hoping is some way they do return home because they have no chance of surviving with being fragile little things. It isn't your fault it was just an accident.

Do you have an extra cage you can sit out side with food and water for them? With the mom in a cage that is securely locked beside the empty open one, perhaps her calls will get them to return ( of course you'd have to supervise it so no animals gets to your momma finch
I am not sure if it would work for Finches, BUT I've ready many stories where it worked on budgies, cockatoos, tiels, and quakers and even some bigger birds

Hopefully they're just hidding in a tree some where really scared and quiet hopefully they'll come home soon

Omg We got one back ! the male firetail was sitting on the fence this morning!

He is now in the large out door finch aviary a little shook up! if his wife dos'nt come backthat'll be the second one he's lost ( first one cat killed - horrible)
