Default A Very BIG Thank You!! RE: Joey

Hello Everyone
From buying a Budgie that was frightened to death of me,to having him need me so much during his illness speaks volumes for Love and Trust and I went to every length to find out why his behaviour and health was deteriorating regardless of any costs incurred(comes with the responsibility).
It hurts beyond words to have lost him,but the 'bond' we had, however short was incomprehensible and I would do it all again!I traveled miles in my car with him to take him to a professional for the best possible care and I do believe they did all they could.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the bird loving people on here for their support and interest in my "torture" of recent. To receive a numerous amount of posts during and after My bird is uncanny.I have found so much comfort to people like Babyluv12,Cliff123,Adottybird,Donna,Ronsig,Lulu,Se renity,Loveof feathers,Atvchick95,And Nancy.A very big thank you to you all!!!! To put Joey on a international map is so warming and thank you to such a rewarding website with 'Unbelievable' members.I will do all I can on this website to try and prevent my misfortunes.I and Joey can't thank you all enough only we wish excellent pet health and a Happy Christmas.
THANK YOU!!!!!
GwR and the late Joey.

You are so welcome

Most of us have lost budgies before. We know how it feels, and who can help better than a person who has been in your shoes?
I also travelled with my budgie in the middle of the night to an emergency vet, and we also lost the fight. Still, at least we tried, and we would do it again.
I know the feeling too well, as do so many here, unfortunately.
You are in good hands here We understand.
Our birds are in a place with no pain now.

I wish there was more we could do. I lost my beloved Bella and it still hurts. You're more then welcome. Just think of the happy times you had with him.

Awe GwR, (and Joey)

How sweet of you to write such a touching post. I am glad that there are so many here on Talk Budgies that could be of comfort to you. By reading threads like yours, it makes me realize that we are MORE than just a site about Budgies - we are also a site that reaches out and makes a difference in people's lives. (And that's a good feeling - to know that people are being helped.) We ALL need support at some time or another, and I'm so glad you have felt supported here.

Joey was blessed to have such a loving owner, and I know you did all you could do to help him. That makes your bond even more special, because you brought great comfort to him in those final days. Anyone who would sit and stroke their Budgie for hours on end (to bring relief to him) has definitely got a GREAT BIG HEART and I can totally understand why your loss is so great.

I hope that you will remain a part of this forum, even though Joey is no longer with you. There's no doubt you have a lot to offer, and many would benefit from your encouragement. Just know that you are much thought of and you and Joey will not be forgotten. Thank you for sharing such kind words with the readers and members of Talk Budgies. Maybe one day you can open your heart to another sweet Budgie like Joey . . . I'm sure Joey would like that . . .

Donna

PS. The photo you've enclosed of you and Joey is priceless. Thank you for sharing that. It makes me feel like I know you both a little bit better now. No doubt, Joey was definitely your buddy!

I know what you mean. I made the mistake of not taking many pics of Bella (RIP) --she was my sweetheart! It's good to have pics and videos that you can go back to even though I still can't forget her. I wish you the best! That's a great pic with you and him by the way.

I did the same thing with my Budgie "Beaker" that died last week. I told him how special he was and told him I was praying for him and that I expected to see him better soon - and then I said "Ill see you in the morning." When I went to see him in the next morning, he was already gone. I knew he probably wouldn't make it but I still had high hopes he'd pull through. Beaker was special and I know he knew I loved him.

This is kind of eerie . . . I did the same thing with my Dad. He had Lou Gehrig's and he died only 3 months after he was diagnosed. I was going down to Missouri to help take care of him each week (for 3 days each time) and I remember kissing him good-bye and telling him I loved him and that I would see him next Thursday. (He said "OK.") Little did I know that next Thursday instead of seeing him alive, I would be attending his visitation. (The anniversary date of his death is 14 days from now.) There is never a good time to let go, and we're never ready, but I guess we have to learn to do that. What would we do without our sweet memories, photos, and videos?

And you're right . . . We never know what we had until it's gone.

Donna
