It is to my great sadness that I have lost my little Bubbles. It breaks my heart to lose not only one, but two in one week. Lemon two days ago, Bubbles this morning. (Featured in my Avatar)
He was puffed up last night, as mentioned in my Lemon post, but he was acting a little different. He was eating quite a bit when I gave him new seed. This morning, I was too afraid to look, so I had my boyfriend look at him later. I guess he was doing okay for a little bit, then when he returned, he was breathing hard and passed away in his hands. He came into work to tell me.
He was my favorite, and had a mate he was very close to him since they were introduced. Last night she was grooming him and he was just sitting there taking it. She doesn't look like herself my boyfriend said, just something you can tell he says. I'm afraid of her passing away from a broken heart to be honest, they were very, very close. They couldn't be seperated without them churping to each other.
I'm very upset from the loss of two, and now it's apparent that something is killing them and I don't know what it is. It isn't viral since they have no contact with other things, the only thing I can think about is their new batch of food, the water in the pipes, the cold in the room, or something in the room thats doing this to them. My investigation is starting tonight, when I get back. I have contacted a vet, who also said it sounds like something in their water, or they caught a chill since they're sensitive to the cold tempertures. I was unable to get my birds in until next week, but by then it may be too late.. I have contacted four avian vets all with similar stories since it's the holidays. They were betwen 1.5 years and 3 years old each.
Good-bye Bubbles.. I love you and you left behind a very loving mate. Now you can be with Lemon together. 11/29/2013
