Default Pinocchio RIP

One night I was closing my daughters window and heard a budgie tweeting close by. I looked out to see a little blue budgie looking at me on the grass. I went out side to get him and he wandered closer them flew onto next doors roof. I turned to go inside and he came back and landed next to our fence. I threw a towel over him and took him inside.
On close inspection, he had a very over grown and deformed beak. His crown feathers were almost non existent and he was covered in scale. I immediately treated him for scale and mites and trimmed his beak. He ate fine and was a very happy bird. However very small. His beak needed trimming every 2 weeks. Over the 6 months I had him he came a long way and was very happy and healthy. My current birds I bought to keep him company and my partner built an aviary himself. We named him Pinocchio because his beak never stopped growing. One morning we found him dead. Presumably from night fright. He was a much loved and much missed little man. RIP Pinocchio.

Oh the poor fellow, I'm so sorry for your loss... You have my deepest sympathies.
How blessed he was to fly over your home and being rescued by you, he got to know how good life can be under your excellent care. I'm sure he appreciates all that you have done for him. Remember all the happy memories you had with Pinocchio as he will forever be in your heart.

Rest in peace, little Pinocchio. You were much loved and will be missed.

Thank you Aluz. We were devastated when he died. He will forever live on in everything I do now, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have my current birds or the cage.
I believe the man over the back let him free as he breeds budgies and had the same colourings in his aviary at the time. Plus he didn't have the strength to fly far so couldn't have flown from much further away. I'm glad he made it to us.

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Pinocchio. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. Pinocchio changed your life when he flew into your yard, and other birds have benefitted from his time with you. I am so sorry for your loss.

Oh my goodness that poor budgie, luck was on his side when he found you. I am so happy for the fact he had a loving and caring home even if it was a short time. I love the fact he introduced you and your family to owning budgies, Fly high little one

Jess,

Thank heaven that little Pinocchio had you to love and care for him for the short time he was here on earth. I'm sure he will always be a part of your heart and that you will miss him dearly.

Fly high and free little Pinocchio; rest peacefully darling boy.
