Default Had to put my dog down

I had to put Chloe my Dalmatian down today. Chloe was a month short of her 17th birthday and I am unbelievably sad.... She was my hiking companion...loved to run through the woods and would always make sure she showed me the way back to the trail whenever we would go off exploring. It was a difficult decision but her quality of life over the last few months has not been good and at this age it was only a matter of time. I thought I had a picture of her to post but I can't find it...she was a beautiful girl though! I think the cat's are going to miss her as much as I do...she hated other dogs but LOVED cats. I already miss her so much....

I'm sorry to hear about Chloe. I know how hard it is to loose a four legged companion.

It must have been hard. I have had cats who died but I never had to decide to put them down. I have one now that I will probably have to make that decision. I am not looking forward to it and cry just thinking about having to think about it.

My condolences.

I'm a huge dog fan too, and I know all too well how this song goes. I'm really sorry you are having to go through this.

Give yourself time to grieve, and know that you gave this fourlegged friend a *great* life. The fact that she lived until 17 says a lot about the care she received.

I'm sure Chloe is racing around at the Rainbow bridge, free from pain or worries.

*hugs*

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is obvious you loved Chloe so very much. Just remember that the decision was made out of love and it was her best interests that influenced that decision.

If you do find your picture of her, I'd love to see it.

I'm so sorry for your loss!

We lost our beloved Rotti/Lab Petie in October. He had cancer.

I am so sorry for your loss. WOW she must have had so much love and attention to live for 17 years! I have a new puppy Max who we have had for three months. I don't know what I'd do if I had to put him down. You are such a strong person. I admire you so much!

Sorry to hear your news, it's particularly hard when you have to make that sort of decision. It sounds like she had a good long life though, so try to remember the great times.
