Default Goodbye Rosie...

I am so sad now. Rosie is dead. My sister took her out today because it was a beautiful day. A day where it is just cruel to stay inside. Well we went off to school and when we returned we yet again found her missing. Someone had opened her cage.

It couldn't have been her because it is very hard to open it. I can hardly open it. We seached around and found Rosie. Max (my dog) had got to her. I couldn't look. I didn't look. I went inside. It was just too much for me.

Now I have to get down to the bottom of the mystery. Who opened her cage? My sister is distraught seeing as its her budgie. She is only nine, a tender age. This time around I have already come to accept that Rosie is gone. I have experienced loss so many times lately.

In memory of Rosie.... I hope your with Snowpea and all the other budgies.

Thank you Sophie. You are a great friend. Max is the last person (or animal) I blame. He doesn't know any better. I don't blame him one little bit. Whats done is done.

aww i'm sorry to hear about rosie

is it possiable wild animals get her through the cage? i've heard of snakes, and other rodents that can squeeze through the small bars and get the birds if not and your 100% sure its been a human

Next time you get a bird if you do, and you place it outside, Use some pad locks on any part of the door that would open (main door) Food doors etc. No matter how hard they are to open

and what may help get to the bottom is place the cage outside in a spot that you can see it from inside, and see if Any one comes into your yard and up to your cage , it could be as simple as a nighborhood child bieng outside playing not bieng supervised by their parent(s) and wanted to play with the bird(s) and just walked over to your property and opened the cage to play with the bird

My daughter had a friend spend the night a couple weekends ago and they were in the bird room (my kids know to sit down in the chairs and be quiet and watch them if the bird comes to them fine, but don't chase them) they normally sit in there to read

I heard some major banging noises comming from there so i went to check my daughters friend (whos around 11yrs old) was SHAKING my big bird cage! I didnt yell at her (if she was my kid she would of been reamed up one side and down the other) and told her no you don't shake the birds cages

and i asked why in the world she was doing it to begin with, Well we'd let Shadow out of the breeder cage (because he was in there for almost 2 weeks and wasn't interersted at all and looked so sad) earlier that day and my kids didn't know we let him out and thought he got out on his own they were trying to catch him to put him back

I'm sorry you lost your budgie. I really am. But, I do not understand how you could put your budgie outside and then go to school. Must be one of those cultural things. Around here we have stray cats, skunks, weasels, gophers, chipmunks, etc not to mention all the household dangers...a bird in a cage outside is literally a trapped bird.

I apologize if I am being too harsh. I just do not understand why you would take that risk again.
