Hi I am new to this forum. My budgie Bart passed away on last Friday night. He was on the bottom of his cage and looked puffed up and not normal. I took him to the vet and he said he had a neurological problem. I had gotten him two weeks before he died. The vet said he likely already had this problem before I got him. The day before I took him out of the cage to play and he acted like his normal self. Even though we were only together for two weeks we really bonded. Even on the morning of the day that he passed he acted normal. I really miss him and so does my other budgie Homer. I got Homer another friend a couple days later because I couldn't bare to see him so lonely. I have not named him yet. I hope to someday be reunited with him in Rainbow Bridge. Below I have a link to some pictures. Homer is blue. Bart is the yellow/green bird. My new bird which I haven't named yet is white.
I am so sorry to hear about Bart
My very first budgie I had also had neurological problems. We took him to the vet, where he spent the night, and he had about three seizures that night. We then had to put him down to end his struggling...
It's so hard to lose our feathered friends. I hope you and Homer have a speedy recovery, and that the new budgie gets along well.
Please let us know how you and your birdies are doing.
