I'm sorry to hear that Kiwi flew out How did he get outside the cage?

I don't know how long he'll be able to survive, but I guess it depends on how lucky he is. He's exposed to dangers such as cats, larger birds and cold weather, but don't give up!
Do you know if someone near you has an outside aviary? The sounds of a large lot of birds could attract a lost budgie looking for food and company.

Perhaps you could put up a note about Kiwi in the supermarkets near you and tempt people with a minor reward? Make sure as many people as possible know that you're missing a budgie so they know who to contact if Kiwi suddenly shows up.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

In December my beautiful budgie Bobby flew out the window and never came back. All you can do is hope and wait. In the meantime put up fliers in your neighbourhood, ads in the local paper, put a cage outside with food and water in, and maybe a recording of another budgie if you have one. Good luck, and never give up. It's been months and I still haven't entirely given up that Bobby will be found somewhere...keep us updated.

Twice already I lost budgies and I got them back both times!
The first time I was still a child, and my bird escaped when my mother was home alone. We put an ad in the paper, and somebody answered. My bird had walked into their house through an open balcony door.

The second time I got my bird back from the Humane Society. Somebody had found it and took it there. That's another thing you should do, check with shelters!

Once a bird landed in front of us when we were walking outside. This bird was not tame! Budgies know they need people when they are in trouble. Both the birds I have now were found outside.

So, there is hope. I have seen it many times.
I hope you will get a happy end too

I'm hoping he comes back or is found.

Don't just rely on the internet, put signs up around your neighborhood, stores and community centers. Paper houses if you have to.

Call all your friends and network with their neighbors.

I lost one once and a lady found him. Miracle. It was several miles away and we had a nature preserve with owls/hawks and other predators near our home.
