Default Fairwell Twinkie

It's to my great disappointment that my little albino Twinkie finally passed on. He's always been sickly since we rescued him, vet deeming him non-contagious. He survived a major cat attack about eight months ago, and avoided a potential one yesterday. We noticed him acting lethargic two days ago, but hopeful he would bounce back. Vet stated he had less than six months, but he survived a total of a year and a half before his illness got the best of him. He had some sort of breathing issue from day one from what the vet said.

While I was visiting my mother, my fiance held him while he had a few seizures then passed on. He removed him and was hoping to tell me tomorrow, but I discovered instantly. While the death was expected sometime soon, it's always difficult to grasp. That makes three unfortunate deaths within six months (first two were an infection, but the rest of the flock survived with antibiotics). I'm a little nervous to get our love bird now!

I think this would be easier to handle if the roommate, my fiances best friend, didn't laugh his butt off shouting "The bird finally died!!!!" Really, this is my pet you Jack***. The past few days, since we knew it was coming, he continuously asked, often laughing and smiling, "Did the bird die yet? I want to watch!". And this is coming from a 20 year old. It's no wonder he's still single. It doesn't matter if it's a bird or a cat, or even a dog, I love all my pets , big or small. While we didn't have him very long, he was still special to me.

Sorry for venting, I feel as if I need people who care about the situation could understand my frustration abd sadness.

What a horrible attitude towards a living breathing animal.
if you could you should throw him out of the house I feel then see who's laughing, as he goes Say Is he gone yet? I want to watch.
Your little friend is now at peace and thankfully your boyfriend was there to help comfort his passing. Hugs to you we here do know how you are hurting and we all can understand totally where you are coming from .take heart in knowing he had a lovely small amount of time in a caring and loving environment with you fly high little one. Hugs and prayers to you and his flock mates.

Thank you, your kind words lifted my spirits up. I wish I could, I hope to have him thrown out in a year after I graduate, or even sooner as my fiance just got a promotion at work. Even his cat is annoying, seeing as she probably overstressed little Twinkie out.

I now have three adorable hens, strong and healthy.

Take care of each other and soon smiles will return when you think of Twinkie.

I'm so sorry for your loss... You have my deepest sympathies.
I'm sure Twinkie appreciates all that you have done for him and now he rests and is free of pain.
As to the roommate, sadly there are a lot of people like him that have a stone in place of a heart. You shouldn't pay attention to him at all and just ignore his hurtful and worthless comments.
I hope you will feel better soon.
Rest in peace, Twinkie. You were much loved and will be missed.

So sorry to hear about your little Twinkie - He was obviously a fighter, hanging on to a good and loving home for quite awhile before he finally succumbed.
That man's cruel and vicious reaction should be a wake up call for your fiance, as to what kind of "friend" he is - I pray he will leave your home even sooner than planned...
Very sorry for your loss

I'm very sorry for your loss of little Twinkie.
Fly high and free sweet boy, rest peacefully now.

Alex,
I am so sorry you lost little Twinkle; you did everything you could for him and gave him the best life while he was here.Remember the jackass has to go through life never knowing what real love is; someone like that can't truly feel it so we should all feel sorry for him.Hopefully, you can get him out of your life soon.Goodbye, little Twinkle.Take care,Alyx.
