Default Duke

I'm so sorry to have to be posting his name in this section I woke him up this morning and knew he wasn't doing well. I left the light low and covered him back up. I checked on him every so often, about every 15 minutes, what else could I do? I went in around 11am and he was lying down and I knew it was the end. The poor little bird had such a hard fight and went through so much. All I ever wanted for him was to some how get better and fly around with Poofy and the other birds and have a long, healthy, happy life. I guess it wasn't meant to be. At least he passed with us in a safe, quiet, warm, comfortable home, and not in the backroom of petco. And we can know that we did everything we possibly could to help him. If only there were an avian CERTIFIED vet within five hours. I seriously would have driven even that far to nyc if I thought he would have made the drive. Sometimes I hate where we live
I think this has been an horrible experience, but it won't have happened for no reason. This has made me, I have decided, want to switch my major from graphic design to ornithology and avian medicine. There is a college which offers the degree a couple of hours from where we live. I'll figure it out...

Peace finally be with you, Duke. You will be very missed and never forgotten.

Hugs, you did all you could to give him a chance. Please take some comfort in that.
