Default My baby flew away :(

It's been just over two weeks. My beautiful blue budgie, Henry has escaped my love. She lived in trees around my home for two days. I tried to get her to come home, but she just kept flying farther up in the trees. I even brought her companion outdoors to coax her down. I could hear her singing in the trees. So I followed her sound and found her. She almost came down to her cage, but tricked me and curved away.
My heart is breaking. I have a cage on my balcony incase she comes home. The weather is warm right now. There's lots of bird feeders outdoors and dirty water is available for her to drink in the area. It just breaks my heart not knowing if she is okay, she is only 3 years old!!
come home Henry, you're loved here by many!!

So sorry Henry is missing. Are you able to leave her companion out in his cage to call to her? Maybe put some food and water on top of his cage for her. Let her get used to visiting him and eating with him. I've captured two birds that were flying loose (not my own), by taking my own bird out in his cage that was inside a larger cage (a dog crate in one case). Once the bird became used to climbing into the bigger cage to visit my bird in his cage, I was able to capture her. With the first bird, I used a string to pull the door on the crate shut once she was far enough in and clearly engaged with my bird through the bars of his cage. I threw a sheet over the bigger cage with the second capture. In both cases you have to let the loose bird become accustomed to you being rather close by. i would take my guy out in the morning and again in late afternoon for several days. Patience is required and possibly a good book to help you sit quietly nearby. If you miss and the bird gets away; it'll take a little longer to regain her trust with the setup. If she's out there anywhere within hearing range of his calls - she's going to come on in eventually. They are definitely flock birds and I'm sure she misses the security of other budgies. Good luck! I hope you get her back.

I'm very sorry to hear this and I truly hope wherever your Henry is that she is safe from harm and doing well. You could post some flyers around your neighbourhood and nearby pet stores in case someone does find her, so that you'll have better chances of being reunited with her.
I'll keep your beautiful Henry in my prayers and that she finds her way back to you.

I'm very sorry to hear that Henry escaped.

Please take a look at this thread as it has valuable ideas on what to do when your bird is lost: https://talkbudgies.com/showthread.php?t=36506

Very sorry for your loss. Nedra has a great idea if it is safe to put her flock mate outside and see if that helps. I really hope you find her.
