Unhappy Rest in Peace Tiko

My little Budgie Tiko passed away yesterday. I made a topic about him earlier in the year about him being ill, well he got better after a vet's visit and some medicine. Well, he got sick again a month or so after so I took him back and got him some other medicine, he got better. He got sick again twice more after this, we never knew why he was like this. I gave him his medicine and the third time he got better. He got sick not long after but this time he did not make it, he was such a tough little bird. He was only a year old, if not almost. He was thrown out of his nest this time last year and I took care of him and had a blast with him. He was a great little friend and I was extremely attached to him. I think he was just a sick bird, something to do with his digestion maybe because the vet didn't seem to really know the first two times. I saw him pass away in my Mum's hands and it was very hard. I was so depressed yesterday and I miss him so much. I love my birds, I have two others, a cockatiel and a princess parrot. He was my baby but now he is gone, he no longer suffers. I just wish he had a longer life to enjoy, he was a blast. He was very playful and happy when he was well, he was the best. Rest in peace my little friend, I hope you are up in heaven with Silvia my cockatiel. This has been a very hard couple of days.

Rest in Peace Tiko, I already miss you so much. I love you.

2007-2008

Default Tiko RIP!

I am so sorry that your special bird passed away. I had a happy and very tame bird that seemed to be ill a lot...and she didn't make it either.
But...: Budgies do go to heaven...

I am so sorry about your loss, it is tough. When you mentioned that he had been tossed out of the nest and that you never really knew what was wrong, it makes you wonder if the parents knew something was wrong. Anyway, you gave him a life, brief as it was and you looked after him. I hope good memories of him will give you some comfort.

He was such a pretty bird. Try to focus on the time and the bond that you had. You did your best and I am sure that he appreciated and loved you for it.

When you lose a special friend like Tiko, it feels like he took a part of you with him.
The angels are taking care of him now.
So rest in pease little Tiko.

Thank you so much everybody, I truly appreciate your wonderful words of kindness. It has been very hard and for everybody else who loses their close companions. Tiko was my baby and it feels like I've lost one of my close friends! I have videos of him on YouTube to remember him by.

I think I might be getting another baby, since we breed them here but it won't be the same, you know? I will always remember him. I just lost a cockatiel seven months ago too which was also very hard. She was old though and had a good life. Tiko did too but he got sick a lot unfortunately.

Yes, we were thinking that too now. It was a shame but I am so glad I got him and got to spend the time with him for the past year. He just learned to talk as well which makes things worse.

I am so sorry. At least you were able to give him a wonderful life, which I'm sure is hard to do for such a sick little bird. I was just looking at your siggy, and he was a beautiful bird! He looks a lot like my Tango when he was younger.
