Default Rest in peace Blueberry

Some say why are you crying over a dead bird. You could always but another one. Well I would turn to them and tell them, face to face, that Blueberry was a bird like no other. When I brought Blueberry home for the first time, she was skittish and shy. But when I visit her cage daily, she started to eat from my hand. I was proud. We got along with each other. When I decided to put a birdbath in the cage, I was so happy she took a bath. In fact, I remember I had to cover myself with the cage cover so Blueberry won’t splash water at me! Another time, Blueberry went on my fingers and ate the seeds that were in the palm of my hand. Blueberry nibbles on my finger a lot. I call her nibbles “nibblets” every time she nibbles on my fingers. When she bites me hard, I don’t mind because I know that she only does that if she’s afraid or if I annoyed her somehow. When Banana died, we both mourned together. When I had problems, Blueberry was there to listen to me, and did not judge me. When she pooped, I cleaned it. All and all, it was a good relationship.

But all this changed.

Today at around 7:15 am, my worst fear came true. I had been so nave that nothing would happen to her if I left Blueberry in the gazebo outside, but something horrible did happened. A cat went under the gazebo covering, and ate Blueberry. All that was left was a wing, in which I buried. I had been so stupid and nave, thinking that she’ll be ok in there.
I seen a few time where her cage was tipped over, but I didn’t know why that didn’t send me a warning sign that something could be wrong. I wish I had followed my intuition, but now I know that if I got new birds again, that I will not put her cage outside anymore. Too bad I’ve learned the hard way.

Blueberry was a bird like no other. It’s amazing to me to see how such a little bird can affect my life in a dramatic way. I could only wish that Blueberry would forgive me for this, and that I didn’t mean for this to happen.

I’ll miss Blueberry a lot. I will always remember the good times we had together, and not the bad.

May Blueberry rest in birdie heaven.

Rest In Peace Blueberry.

Thank you to everyone. I feel so bad about this. Her death was my fault because I was so stupid in keeping her outside. I really miss her alot. I found out that writing a farewell speech for Blueberry really help me cope with this.

Don't blame your self - every one makes mistakes !

if and when you get another bird, You can take it outside, in it's cage (securely locked) but you'll need to be right there at all times, that means if you need to go into the house for anything at all even if it's just for a second, Take the bird with you. and when your done and ready to go back out take her/him back out with you.

just don't leave it out unattended

I know how writing about them helps so much I lost 4 birds in less then 2 months, and writing about them helped me alot.

I am so sorry, it is bad enough when they die but to only have a wing left is really beyond hard. Writing about it does help with coping. I certainly found that it did. My condolences.

I am so sorry to hear about Blueberry. I hardly know what to say. Your story brought tears to my eyes. Those of us who have lost our friends in the past know how it feels. If it's better to talk about them then that's what you should do. We know how much you loved them.
He'll be forever in your heart, along with Banana.
Perhaps they're both flying high together at the Bridge.
Rest in Peace little Blueberry.

I am sorry to hear of your traumatic experience... my thoughts are with you. Blueberry wouldn't blame you, that I am sure of. Banana and Blueberry are together now. When you are ready and you have healed enough, get more birds-- if you are up to the re- bonding process. Definitely do not blame yourself!

I'm so sorry, i know how you feel. I felt responsible when my lovebird Delilah passed away last month.
R.I.P little Blueberry.

I am so sorry That is a terrible story and even more terrible that you had to live it. You certainly did not mean for this to happen. Others who tell you to it was just a bird do not understand what we all know. I am really sorry for your loss.
