Rip birdybum

Hi.
I am new to this site. I am in pain today after losing my beloved budgie Birdybum last nite. I had him for 9 years and i feel i have lost my friend. Even my husband feels the same. My friend has suggested getting two next time, although i thinking of just one. I dont work, and want to teach to talk etc. What do i do? And which sex is best for talking etc?
RIP BIRDYBUM...... FLY FREE WITH ANGELS XXX

I'm so sorry!! I hope you are ok.

As far as I know it's only the male budgies that can learn to talk.

Hens can learn to talk, it's just rare and more difficult.

Moomie, I am sorry that it is the loss of your beloved pet that brings you here. My deepest sympathy to you and your husband on your loss. As far as replacing your bird, if you want a companion that you can work with, a single bird or two that are kept in seperate cages will be what you need to consider for best bonding with you.

I don't know where you are located, but we have a wonderful, very experienced breeder in Ohio who hand raises, matches bird's to your personality desire, and would surely be a good place for you to look into. Check out cutelittlebirdies aviary website, and even if you can't get a bird from her, you will find all the info there to be a big help in deciding how to proceed with getting a new bird or two...glad your here....:)
