Default Tribute to Rose's old flock

As many of you are already aware, I contacted the RSPCA and AWL regarding the conditions that Rose and her flock members where living in.

The RSPCA was first to the property, 33 budgerigars where seized from the 50 year old man on the 6th of December, 2014. Lots of you already know what Conditions I am referring to, but if not please see my thread 'i rescued a gorgeous girl'

Unfortunately, 27 of these birds where put to sleep. They were too poorly to be able to be rehabilitated. 6 Lucky birdies were well enough to be able to be treated. They are currently undergoing extensive treatment for heavy metal poisoning, and 4 of the birds will be joining me in the coming weeks.

I would like to pay my respects to the 27 lives lost to absolute cruelty, fly high in budgie heaven beautiful birds.

Oh goodness, it is so sad that they had their lives cut short due to such negligence

However, it is comforting in a way to know that the ones that did not make it did not suffer an agonizing and drawn out death from heavy metal poisoning, but rather likely a quick and painless one where they simply drifted off

You have done what is a truly loving thing for those budgies, and the 4 that will be coming to you will be more than fortunate to have the loving home they deserve : hug:

This is gut-wrenching, that these little birds were living in such dreadful conditions. At least now they are no longer suffering.

I wish the little ones that made it a full and speedy recovery and may they all find good homes where they are cherished and have the loving care they deserve.
I'm glad you will be adopting 4 out of the 6 budgies. They will be very lucky to be under your care. Karma to you for your kindness.

For the life of me I can not understand how people can do this sort of terrible cruelty and not have a conscious about it either. I hope the budgies that were rescued live a full and happy life they deserve and through them the other Angels live on in spirit ,fly high and free sweet babies it was not right nor will it ever be so sorry they suffered. To you I applaud your bravery and kindness.

This i so sad

but what if you know a person that is a good friend to you and she dont take good care of her birds. She loves birds but dont realise that the condition they are in are not healthy and not good.
How do you talk to people like that with out being rude and make them understand?

Maybe you could give them a book on budgies and see if that helps.

I am glad to hear that action was taken but sad that so many had to be put down. Hopefully the ones that have been rescued will recover.
Will there be any follow up to make sure the guy does not start all over again with new birds?

Thank you so much for what you've done for these poor birds. I'm sad that more of them could not have been saved, but far better gentle euthanasia performed with sympathy and care than a lingering and painful death. You have done good in the world by this, Erin. Bless you.

And taking on four of the survivors! Wow! I hope they fully recover in your excellent care. Thank you for giving them the chance at a happy and healthy life!
