Sorry to hear about Kiwi! It sounds like he was very loved.
You should get another bird when you are ready - but it might be a good idea to save up a little bird fund first if money may be an issue. There would be nothing worse than having one of these little creatures in a position where you cannot help them! Then you could get another bird with the security that you could truly look after him/her! I know all of our thoughts are with you right now.
Ask to choose one as a Christmas gift? I know that's a little bit away yet, and maybe you have a birthday coming up before then. In the meantime, you can start your "bird emergency fund" by saving some of your allowance (if you get it) or by doing various little jobs for people who are willing to pay for it. My Mom was always willing to slip me a bit of cash if I took on something like the pre-Christmas silver cleaning, as it saved her doing it, and it was in addition to my regular chores. I was also baby sitting by the time I was just under fourteen. My friend's daughter had several dog walking customers in her building by the time she was eleven, and did quite well out of that.
I am soo sorry Kiwi passed away. I would say give yourself time to greive before you get another budgie. Save up some money for vet bills incase you have an emergency with your new budgie. We never realize how these little creatures touch our lives till they are gone. Fly free Kiw, RIP.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Kiwi.
I agree with the other members on here to wait a while and poss save up. Its always best to have some money put to one side in case you need to go to the vets. I know how awful i would feel if Nigel has to got to the vets but i didn't have any money to pay for his treatment.
But on the other hand..your heart will be telling you a different story.
You are in my thoughts
Well my Sister, AnimalLuvr, is kind enough to lend me the $15 dollars or possible more for whatever. I'm not sure when I'll get a new budgie, but its real hard on me. Louie (my sister's bird) and Kiwi were such close friends and Louie is like in shock, he/she has completely changed. You could say its upset.
Thanks everyone. More opinions could help me.

I would take your time to mourn the loss of your baby. When the time is right you will know. Some people have to mourn a while before they get a new baby and some people have to have a new baby to fill the void. I would definitely try to save up in the meantime for when you do have a new budgie. I am so sorry for your loss. Even though budgies are quite small they leave BIG marks on our hearts.
