My Lemon passed away rather suddenly last night. He was acting under the weather since Sunday - I figured it was his usual molt stress. I had planned on getting some Bird Builder supplement that the vet recommended for Lemon when he's molting. However, he took a sudden turn for the worse last night, going to the bottom of the cage around 8:30. About an hour later, he passed away in my husband's hands. My husband cried almost as much as I did.
He was about 7 years old, with me for 4 years. I adopted him so that my other budgie Tweety would have a friend. He was so good for her. He taught her how to sing - I can hear her singing right now and contact calling for him .Tweety is now alone again at 12 years old.

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Lemon. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. Poor Tweety, poor you and your husband. It's difficult to lose your special friend. So sad.
Oh, so sorry to hear of Lemon's passing. It is never enough time we spend together, nor are we ready for the angel wings to take over their job. But He is now flying free with the flock in the sky.
It is your other little darling who at twelve years of age needs your love and care to help her mourn her loss, give her extra care and hugs to you. You has seven years together that in itself is remarkable and many happy memories will be recalled I am sure the tears are part of the process smiles will return soon when you think of your angel Lemon.
I'm so sorry that Lemon has flown over the Rainbow Bridge. Tweety and you and your husband will have a difficult time after another loss, but you are there for each other with Lemon watching over and soon the sun will rise again.
I know that little Lemon was so happy with the years he spent with you, and to have left you so suddenly is a saddening thought. However, every minute he spent in your care with his best friend Tweety was precious to all of you, and his happy yellow self will always be in your heart.
Rest in peace and fly high, Lemon
and Princess Mallorn!
