SilverGryphon is on a distinguished road
Default RIP Budgie the Budgie

We only had her 2 weeks (to the day) before losing her suddenly without warning. Her first week with us she sat mostly in the same spot, would only occasionally chirp if no one was near her cage. Over this last week she was more active, starting to play and move around her cage more, and singing/chirping more often. Today she was the most active I've seen her, playing up and down on the bars of the cage. Today was also the first time she came over to investigate my fingers when I reached into the cage, climbing up onto them and nipping/licking a few times before going back around to check out the tupperware dish of water I placed inside her cage for a bath. When we went to cover her cage for the night we found her laying on her side in the bottom. She allowed me to pick her up, she kept her eyes closed most of the time but would occasionally open to look up at me. We were looking for a veterinarian hospital that would be open when she started having seizures in my hand, then died in the box we placed her in to take her to the vet. hospital before we could even get the out the door. A very sudden loss for us.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Budgie. It sounded like she knew she was in a good place even for the short time she was with you.
Sometimes, sudden deaths happen, and it seems she may have had a pre-existing condition before you got her, or went through a sudden seizure, heart attack, or stroke.
Please don't blame yourself, you did everything you could for your little one and she had the best few weeks of her life with you and your family.
Budgie is now over the Rainbow Bridge, looking down on you fondly. May she perch in your heart forever even though she wasn't with you nearly long enough.

My heart goes out to you for this sudden loss. I hope that after your grief passes you will be willing to take in another little budgie and show them your love just like you did for your little one.

Rest in peace and fly high, little Budgie. Best wishes to all of you.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your little budgie. Sometimes this happens to our little ones they hide there illness and sometimes we don't even know when they are sick..
Please don't blame yourself it is not your fault. Seems to me she may of been sick from when you first bought her...
You have a lot of love in your heart to share I hope when you feel better that you will try again with another little budgie to love there are a lot of little budgies out there that need a home and someone to love them... Maybe try a breeder if you would like to try again one day...

Rest in peace little budgie you were very much loved by your mum and sing a beautiful song up high in the sky....

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh, why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow why, oh, why can't I?

I'm so sorry to hear about little Budgie . It's so hard to go through I know, and such a horrible shock when you find them. I've unfortunately been through death of a beloved bird 3 times so far, but it was the budgie who I found in his cage. Take care...

I'm so sorry for your very unexpected and untimely loss. You have my deepest sympathies.
Even though you had Budgie for a short amount of time, I'm sure she knew she had a good home and was well loved.

Rest in peace, little Budgie. You were much loved and will be missed.

Maybe after some time has passed and you feel your heart has healed enough, you may consider getting another budgie friend to brighten your days.
Take care.

As, I have mentioned on your other post, I'm so sorry for your loss...it is never good whether they pass suddenly, or after an illness, but it is such a shock when they pass quickly...we lost our little Arya (the yellow budgie in my profile pic) four days after coming to be with us...she showed no signs of illness when she went to sleep and was found on the cage floor in the early morning. I hope you and your family, as aluz et al. mentioned, "you may consider getting another budgie friend to brighten your days."
