In Memory of Budgie Bud // Thank You

Thank you to all of those that were responding, checking, praying, etc when I was in need of advice for my budgie Bud with his unknown neurological disorder. My thread has since been closed, I am assuming due to inactivity, I have been unable to tell everyone what happened because it was so terribly upsetting.

We found a wonderful organization (AKA an absolutely amazing woman who lets birds in need in to her home: Flying Hope - Home) and we were on our way on a 4 hour drive to Frankford, Ontario to drop him off and to someone who knows what to do and who can afford him to take care of him. I asked my boyfriend to check on him every hour-ish to make sure he was ok. First and second check he was okay and on his third check (when we were a mere 30 minutes away) my boyfriend had discovered that Bud had passed. My heart shattered into a thousand little pieces and the feeling remains. I wish I had known about the organization sooner perhaps he could have made it. What terrible timing. My poor Bud. In about a year of his life he spent much of it struggling and fighting. I loved him to bits.

Thank you again to everybody for your overwhelming support and advice. I wish you all the best and I am sure I will be posting soon for something or other! In about a months time we are going to get another Budgie and try to have a friend for Blue again. Having animals is so rewarding but can be so devastating at times.

I'm very sorry for your loss of little Budgie Bud.

Fly high and free sweet boy; rest peacefully now little one.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid you see.
I flew to Him when I heard His call
I had to go and leave you all..

I could not stay another day
To chirp, to fly, to preen, to play.
All things undone must stay that way
I found my peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A song, a snuggle and many a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savoured much
My happy home, my Mommy’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't spend yours now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Bud. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. They leave us much too soon, but you gave Bud what he deserved most, all your love and good care. I am so sorry for your loss.

Your bud must have been a real fighter to have battled illness for a year, I know how hard it is to watch them fight a long battle with illness. He's free from pain now though, flying high over rainbow bridge, rip bud.

I'm so sorry to hear your little boy Bud passed away :(

He was obviously very well cared for and lived his whole life in happiness, however short he stayed on earth with you.

Now he is flying free over the Rainbow Bridge. You must be totally heartbroken and I can't imagine the pain you are feeling.

You did the best you could for your little guy and I'm sure he knows it.

Rest well and fly high, little Bud.

I am so sorry to hear Bud has passed, you did everything possible for Bud and he is now with our Angel flock at peace and happy. You do not have a reason to feel guilty. Yes it brings pain but more so the pleasure and happiness we get from having these little ones in our lives far out ways the sad moments. Time will help heal Take care and I am looking forward to hearing more soon regarding another feathered friend for your family.

You have my deepest sympathies over the loss of your Bud. :(
Time will heal the deep pain from no longer having your Bud around and hopefully soon the memories of the good times you had with him will give you comfort. Bud is now all healed and flying free at rainbow bridge with all our departed little friends. He will forever live on in your heart.

Rest in peace, little Bud. You were much loved and will be missed.

Aww - please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your little Budgie Bud. It's always tempting to feel guilty about what you could have done, (or not done), but it serves no purpose other than to torture yourself needlessly after the fact. You loved and cared deeply, did everything you knew to do, and that counts for alot, even though Bud didn't make it...At least he is free from the pain and health struggles he suffered for so long...
You have my deep sympathy
