Well as you know Skootz came into my life about 2 weeks ago, he was in the quarantine room but Buddy was able to hear him and they called back and forth to each other.
I checked on him every hour on the hour, he was one of those special budgies, fearless, the second I came into the room he would fly up to the side of the cage facing me and wait for me to put my hand in and be more then happy to climb all over it.
Friday all was normal, good food, good water and good poops, I checked on him Friday afternoon/evening and say him all fluffed sitting on his perch.
He looked really bad but had enough energy to hop on my hand and climb up my shirt to get on my chest. I held him in my hand as he gave me a last chirp while looking at me then he closed his eyes and crossed over.
I am devastated, such a short time with me and he has gone, Buddy is missing him as well as he is chirping but there is no sound coming back.
I have no clue what went wrong, I did not even have time to react, 1 second there and next gone. All I have in my head is at least he hung in there until I came up for his check and found peace in my hand.
Fly free my lil bird I shall see you again one day.
Gawd I am a softy, 51 years old and I can't type this without tears running down my face.
He was a beautiful and charming little man and I'm sure he enjoyed the best two weeks of his life! It breaks my heart to imagine how hard that must have been. He really knew it was time for him to go and wanted to say goodbye.
Little Skootz is flying high above the Rainbow, looking down at you and your other birds, chirping happily. He will always remain in your heart, even though he only remained in your house for a short time.
You are not a softie. These little birds capture our hearts in ways we never thought they could. Hugs to you in your grief
Fly free and rest well, little boy. May the skies and stars watch over you.
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
You are a kind and compassionate man and your grief is understandable.
Skootz was a very fortunate budgie to have had you shower him with love and attention for the short time he graced the world with his charm and beauty.
Skootz is now flying free with our flock of Angel Budgies and will play happily at the Rainbow Bridge until you meet again.
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Skootz. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart and he will be with you forever. They leave us much too soon, but you gave Skootz what he deserved most, all your love and good care. I am so sorry for your loss. So sad.

Barry, never abandon that gentle heart. Love keeps us essentially human and caring for all of the live around us. Keep your little one close to your heart always. There is a blessing hidden in this for you. Jo Ann
