Hurting so much..I lost my little blue a few days ago. :'(

Hi, im new here, i found this site in hopes of support during my greiving time.

I lost my blue budgie Rowdy nickname (Blue), a few days ago. I am at a loss it hurts so much to see his cage still, i covered it so i cant see inside and see him not there, im not ready to put it away yet.
In my dresser its still full of packages of his millet and his bag of food, extra cuttlebones, gravel, etc.
I just break down crying when i open it.

Ive had a candle lit next to his picture since he passed.

He was completely fine the day before and then the next day he was puffed up and looked tired, i thought he was still tired so i covered him thinking he needed more sleep, then i took a nap and my mom uncovered him later, i guess he was still ok then but then after i woke from my nap and went to see him he was gone.... :sad3:

He was 9 or more years old.

Do u think he passed from old age?
I had a budgie before too and he lived to bout 11.

I would feel awful if it wasnt from old age, im just hoping it was quick and painless my poor lil guy. :'(

I loved him very very much, i struggle with depression and his singing always helped with the silence and made me happy hearing him sing, no matter how bad i felt.

I miss him so much i miss his singing, i miss my sweet blue. :'(

He passed a week before the anniversary of my other budgie's passing in 2011.

I buried him next to my other budgie which was his friend.

Im just so saddened with grief. Also sorry if im not posting this right, im new here and dont know how this works, just needed to talkto others who understand and feel my pain.

Thank you

I miss you and love you forever and ever Rowdy, and same for you Banjo (my other bird that passed).

All of us here at TB understand what you are going through. I am so sorry this has happened , but your lovely budgie Blue lived a full and happy life for nine wonderful years , many others do not experience this. How ever long our friends are with us it is never enough in our hearts and eyes.
It is natural you are feeling like you are the pain will get better with time and then when you recall a fun time , or a certain action triggers a memory a smile and happiness will be able to show itself.
Take care and perhaps in the future you may wish to share your home and heart once more.
Fly high and free now Blue with our Angel Flock.

Thank you so much for the kind words, it helped. *hugs*
I nicknamed him blue but his name was rowdy.
It is true, no matter how long with us to me it doesnt seem nearly long enough.
Yes, i hope he is flying free now young again and strong with all the other angel flocks. *sniff*

Hurting so Much. I lost my little Blue.

I know how you feel. I lost my little Blue 2 years ago. He was only 2. Its heatbreaking. This helped me a lot."I'll lend you, for a little while, a bird of mine," He said.
"For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead.

It may be six or seven years, or maybe twenty-three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, as all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this bird to learn.
And when he comes back th heavan. You will know he loved you too.
I've looked the whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love - not think this labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again.

I fancied that I heard them say, 'Dear Lord, thy will be done.'
For all the joy this bird shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shower him with tenderness and love while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for him much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."

If, by your love, you've managed, my wishes to achieve,
In memory of him you've loved; be thankful; do not grieve.

Cherish every moment of your feathered charge.
He filled your home with songs of joy the time he was alive.
Let not his passing take from you those memories to enjoy.

"I will lend to you, a Bird", God said, and teach you all you have to do.

I'm so sorry to hear this...:( No matter how long we have been blessed to share our lives with our much beloved little friends, it's never easy to say the final goodbye, and you have my deepest sympathies over the loss of your Rowdy.

Time will lessen the pain from no longer having your budgie boy and as you start to heal, the good memories of the 9 years you had with Rowdy will give you comfort. He will continue to live on in your heart.

Rest in peace, sweet Rowdy. You were much loved and will be missed.

Despite the very sad circumstances, welcome to the forums.

I'm sorry for Rowdy....please accept my deepest condolences for him. Your description about him passing away and his food stock really made me emotional. But I'm sure Rowdy lived a very happy and long life of 9 years under your care and affection. He was very fortunate to have you as his companion.
I'm sure Rowdy has put in a good word for you wherever he is.
Rest In Peace, ROWDY.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Rowdy, your little "Blue" :(. I completely understand all that you're going through because I've been there before. Several times. I hope it helps comfort you in a small way to know that you're not alone knowing what it feels like to lose a beloved friend.. In time, you'll have beautiful memories that will make you smile... I promise.

I am very sorry for the passing of lil Blue, having had the same thing happen to me on Friday I can imagine how you feel, although to be honest my bird was with me a MUCH shorter time then you had Blue.

Think of his happy chirps, the strange and funny things he did while looking at you as if it was totally your fault :) He will always be in your heart and memories.

Fly free and high little Blue, join our angel flock by the rainbow bridge and try to stay out of trouble until you both meet again...

Barry
