Today, January 8th of 2016, the heavens above have become brighter with you, Mona. Of this I am sure, you were one of the kindest, most generous and nurturing birdie mothers I had the honour to have in my 25+ years of budgie ownership. You and Tito were the founding members of the now formerly known “Flock of 14” and after almost 3 years apart you are now reunited for eternity.
I will forever hold dear to my heart all the precious moments of the almost 7 years we had together, of how you always got the happy jitters every time you were outside for some sun, and how excited you were to reply to the sparrows by mimicking their flock calls. I will never forget how patient you were with your mates and how gentle and caring you’ve been to your chicks. You raised a total of 12 chicks, 5 with Tito and 7 with Carioca, I have kept 2 chicks from each of your mates. Your legacy lives on and I will always be in your debt for giving me Tito Junior, Dinda, Peppy and Luigi.
Your parting was unexpected, Mona. Your mate Carioca is already missing you and so am I.
We will heal together and the flock will hopefully lift Carioca's spirits up.
Rest in peace, Mona and thank you for your generosity. You will always be loved and missed by us.

I cannot hope to tell you how sorry I am that your beautiful Mona has passed from this world into Heaven. She was a precious, loving mother and friend to your whole flock and it is bittersweet how present she will be through the lives of her chicks.
Your tribute to her was very moving and only further proves how special, how important, she was to you and your flock. She may be gone, but I can see she never will truly leave you as she and Tito surely will watch over their legacy from above.
You have seven wonderful years of memories to reflect on, and through them your grief will grow less, even though I know you'll always miss her, every day, every time you see Peppy, or Tito Jr., or any of the others. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the flock as you remember your precious girl who lived her life happy, loved, and cared for.
I can't possibly express my sadness at hearing this news and it seems fit to look out at the snow that is falling outside and remember a cheerful, bright blue bird winging her way to eternal peace.
Mona, be at peace forever as you rest among the stars. You will never be forgotten.
and Princess Mallorn!
Thank you to Deb for her wonderful Faery magic
Your tribute to Mona was so moving and Star's reply so eloquent that I am truly at a loss for words.
You have my deepest sympathy during this difficult time.
I'll lend you,
for a little while, a bird of mine, He said.
For you to love while she lives,
and mourn when she is dead.
It may be six or seven years, or maybe twenty-three,
But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and shall her stay be brief,
You'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, as all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this bird to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love - not think this labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call, to take her back again.
I fancied that I heard them say, 'Dear Lord, thy will be done.'
For all the joy this bird shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shower her with tenderness and love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
And should the angels call for her much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
I'm so sorry to hear that Mona has left you to be reunited with Tito once again.I know she has taken a piece of your heart with her, Aluz. Time will heal the sadness you are feeling right now, but you will never forget your beautiful wee girl, and that is as it should be.Be comforted by Mona's offspring and know that Mona is happy now. I'm thinking of you . Mona, snuggle close to Tito and rest peacefully, little feathered angel.
