In Memory of Holly
You came to me as a Christmas present from your daddy. We went to the pet store to look at some budgies, and there you were. I saw you from a mile away it seemed. Bright yellow feather and a spark in your eyes that I could never deny. I hurried to grab an associate and told her that you were to come home with me that day, right then and there. It took about 20 minutes to get to your new home, and you chirped all the way there. Buddy Holly was playing, and I knew your name should be Holly.
I got you home, and somehow, Peatri knew I brought you home. He flock called for you immediately, and when he heard you reply, he knew that you were his. After the awful long quarantine period of 4 weeks, I added you into your would be permanent home with my other 7. You made my flock whole at 8. Peatri fed you within your first 30 seconds of moving in, and that's when I knew. You and Peatri were a couple that no one could separate.
You were full of life and loved your new home and family. You were a bit clumsy of a flyer, so I made the difficult choice and clipped your beautiful wings. You didn't even know the difference. I played with you on the bed with daddy, and you were one of my fastest runners, lol.
But something was off and I think we both knew. You were sick, but you hid that fact from me and daddy very well. You fought hard and valiantly, and did us both very proud. You had the best vet ever who cared for you very much. Unfortunately though, me and daddy were just too late figuring all this out.
I held your empty vessel in my hands just hours after, and cried harder than I ever had before. As much as I knew that you were in a better place, I never wanted you to be apart from me. I just got you, you were brand new. I lost a daughter that day. I will never forget you Holly Lolly. We all love and miss you like you'll never know.
RIP Holly, may you live on forever and never be forgotten. You'll always be in our hearts.
Thank you for my wonderful signature Deb!!!
RIP Pepper, Peatri, Holly, Mini, and Quarty
