Default Chittu Passed Away Today

I have two budgies, mitthu and chittu.

Chittu escaped his cage yesterday and got his leg hurt badly. I took him to an avian vet today morning. He had said chittu has four or five fracture in his leg. He applied a plaster like dressing and tied his both legs with a thread so the bones join correctly.

We came back home with a new cage with no perch for chittu. I put a soft fluffy cloth at the bottom of the cage for him to sit.

In the cage, he was always trying to jump. He wanted to reach the top of cage. I know he wanted to sit on a perch. For three or four hours everything was okay. But I noticed that his breadth has increased. I thought it is just because this cage is new to him and he is jumping. He was eating but also trying to bite my fingers in anger or because he was scared

At around 4 PM, I took him out of the cage to feed him with hand. He was not much responsive. I tried to feed him after. At first moved his head at fast speed. Then after few moments he became standstill. He was not moving any body part. I got tensed and called the vet's office. The doctor was no there but the assistant told me to put the liquid medicine on his beak and leave him for 30 minutes. I did the same.

After 30 mins, he was still not moving. And now it became clear to me that has passed away.

All my members started crying away.

We are still saddened by this incident. Personally, he was like my own son. He brought me great happiness. He came to our house just two months ago. I think he was still 5-6 months old.

I am totally devastated. But I should not feel this way because I have to take care of mitthu, my other budgie.

I am planning to get another budgie of same breed so that mitthu can make friends with him.

I have cried many times today. I do not how I will get out of this painful experience. I am always thinking about him and I want him back. But there is no way to get him back.

You have my deepest sympathy Jagatpalv. Most of us here know the pain of losing a much loved bird.
Yes, it is totally devastating and you are perfectly entitled to feel this way. You still love Mitthu and you can still care for him, but grieving for Chittu is something you have to do. It is a natural part of a loved one dying.
Don't feel guilty for feeling this way.....time will take away the worst of the pain, and one day you will be able to think back and smile.
Chittu is now flying free from pain and injury with his own kind.

Im so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is most definitely the same as losing a family member and my heart hurts for your family and your loss. May time ease your pain.

I am so sorry for your loss sometimes our little feathered babies are given to us for what seems way too short a time and now and then one comes along who seems to die way too young and they cross the bridge way too soon yet they leave an eternal imprint on our hearts that makes us better people for having known them and having them in our lives and your Chittu was one of those sweet souls. I guess God fell in love with your little boy too and when He saw him jumping for the highest perch God decided to give him the highest perch of all and He lifted Chittu up to be near Him forever in Heaven, but Chittu will live forever in your heart too and he will watch over you and and be your Angel, your special Angel and I pray that right now your Angel Chittu Blesses you with the gift of Consolation in your time of great grief. Rest in Peace Chittu and Fly Free where there is no more pain and no broken legs to worry about where you can be forever happy flying to the highest perch of all

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your darling boy Chittu

He was very loved and will forever be remembered. As you and Mitthu together brave the grief that follows, keep him close to your heart and he will never truly leave.

Fly high and free of pain, little Chittu. Rest among the stars.

Hugs and best wishes to you in your grief

I am deeply sorry for loss of Chittu. Please accept my deepest sympathies for you and your family. This is the difficult part about loving a little creature with all your heart, but with time, you will smile at the precious memories of Chittu. Take care , little Mitthu needs you too now..

I'm very sorry for your Chittu's untimely passing, you have my deepest sympathies. This is the hardest part in pet ownership, the moment they live us and while the pain from the loss is difficult to bare, the memories left by our beloved little ones and what they gave us in return during the time we had them more than makes up for the most challenging times we all need to endure sooner or later.
Hopefully soon as you begin to heal, the good memories of the times spent with Chittu will give you comfort.

Rest in peace, little Chittu. And despite the very sad circumstances, welcome to Talk Budgies.
