Nov. 2013 - 22nd Aug. 2016
Sparky sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. I am currently away from home for a few days, and had left Sparky and her companion, Maisie, with a lad who is an upstairs neighbour of a good friend of mine, and has a budgie of his own.
Sparky had been a bit wheezy in her breathing recently, but had completed a week's course of antibiotics 2 weeks ago that I got from the vets, and was sounding better & better each day. Apart from how she sounded, she was as happy and active as I could've wished for....flying about the room & spending more time out of her cage than in it.
Everything was fine with her up until last night. However, I got a phone call from my friend early this evening, who broke the news to me.
I'm so gutted to have lost her after less than 3yrs. She was the tamest budgie I've had. The lad who was looking after her is apparently in bits about it, and feels guilty....(I know what it's like to have someone else's pet pass away when I've been looking after it). I've passed a message onto him, saying that there was nothing he could've done about it, that it was just unfortunate timing and not to beat himself up.
I'm due to return home on Thursday. Safe to say, I'm not looking forward to it
Fly free, Sparky
