Default Goodbye Peatri

Hello everyone. Thank you all so very much for your kind words and prayers for my boy.

I had to work today until 3, at which time I rushed home, because Lonny had texted me with an update on Peatri's condition. At 5pm, after several seizures, and an attempt to get him to poop, Peatri died in my hands. I personally believe that he had a heart attack because of me. I tried to soak his bum in some warm water to try to relax his muscles so he could finally go. He fought to get free for just a second, and then everything just stopped. I think I put undue stress on him in my efforts to help him. I tried to wake him up, or get any sign that he was still alive, but there was none. We are absolutely devastated, and broken.

I am so, so sorry for your loss of Peatri....
I'm sure it wasn't your fault, he had been sick for a long time. He's now free of pain and will once more be able to fly freely.
Rest In Peace little one.

Oh Kristen, this is not the outcome that we were all praying for. I am so terribly sorry for you and Lonny over the loss of your beloved boy. Please try not to fret over your worry that you may have caused him to have a heart attack. You did nothing to hasten Peatrie's passing over, and you will come to know that soon yourself. Please be kind to yourself. Lonny and you need to support each other at this time and be there for each other.Peatrie is flying freely now, no longer in pain and you were a totally wonderful budgie guardian to him.You did everything in your power to help him and I believe he knew that. Nobody could have done more.

Take the time to grieve for your wee guy and in time you will learn to smile again and remember the special little antics that endeared him to you.My family and I are thinking of you and Lonny at this time.

Fly high Peatrie, little feathered angel.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Little Peatri is now where he needs to be.
He's flying high, soaring freely and playing happily at the Rainbow Bridge.
This is truly the best thing for him as he is no longer in any pain nor is he suffering.

While death is never easy to face when one of our loved ones is taken from us, it is an inevitable part of life's cycle.
Focus on the joy you experienced with Peatri during the time he blessed your lives with his presence rather than the sorrow you feel that he is no longer with you.
In time, the pain will ease and it will become easier to focus on the happy memories.
Give thanks for having been allowed to have Peatri share your lives.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid you see.
I flew to Him when I heard His call
I had to go and leave you all..

I could not stay another day
To chirp, to fly, to preen, to play.
All things undone must stay that way
I found my peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A song, a snuggle and many a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savoured much
My happy home, my Mommy’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't spend yours now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.

Oh, Kristen, I'm so sorry for the loss of your gorgeous little boy.

I can't imagine the pain you're going through, especially since you worked tirelessly to save him. I know he knew you loved him so incredibly much.

Please don't blame yourself for his passing; I felt the same way when we tried so hard to save Tilda only a few months ago. She also was under a lot of stress due to baths, etc. for the same reason. In the end, we must hold tight to the knowledge that all we did was out of love and concern.

Peatri is resting peacefully now, free of pain or illness. I'm sure he's watching over you and the flock even now

Again, I'm so, so sorry. May you find light in these dark times.

So, sorry for the loss of your dear Peatri...please don't hold yourself accountable...even when we do all that is possible to help, Nature will take it's course...take your time to grieve for him and then you will be able to take solace in your many wonderful memories of him...R.I.P. Peatri

I'm so very sorry Kristen.

Peatri had been sick for quite a while and undergone many vet examinations and medications; I seriously doubt that your last small attempt to make him a little more comfortable, hastened the end in any way.
Think of him now as flying pain-free and try to focus on his life spent in good health and happy times. He was very much loved and I'm sure he knew that.

Treat yourselves to a nice photo frame for one of your favourite shots of Peatri, (perhaps you collected moulted feathers, if so, you could add a couple at the bottom of the photo). Something to help you to recall the good times and start to smile.

Hello everyone. Thank you all for your kind words and reassurances. They mean so much during this devastating time. Peatri was so very loved, cherished, and adored. He was very special to us, both in different ways, and for different reasons. Peatri picked out Lonny to go home with the second he saw his future daddy through the glass at Petsmart. He was so eager to please, and always, most of the time, did what he was told while training. He will be forever in our hearts.

Thank you again, all of you, so much for your love and support during this horrible experience. Keep the love flowing, we really need it right now.

Kristen, Lonny, Jewel, and the 6 remaining fids.

Kristen - I am so terribly sorry for the devastating loss of your beloved Peatri. Please don't blame yourself for his passing - as others have said, Peatri had been ill for quite awhile, and you and Lonny did the very best you possibly could for him. Now his suffering is over, though your grief is not. Please be kind and patient with yourselves during this time of great sorrow, and hopefully in time you will be able to be comforted with all your happy memories of your darling boy.
I send my love, prayers, and deepest sympathy

I do not think it was your fault. When budgies are very sick, they can pass before you can get them the help they need. You did manage to see him at his end. Sorry things did not go better.
