Default Sad news and Thanks

Some may remember helping me with questions about our first budgie, Job. It seems that every time I came here, it was with questions regarding her health (even more times than it seems, since I ended up having to register a new account at one point). The folks here were always so helpful and knowledgeable, and I just want to thank you all for that from the bottom of my heart.

Job was constantly molting, ever since we got her, which made her grumpy sometimes, but she was very smart and very sweet otherwise. I lost track of how often we took her to the vet to be checked, and it wasn't until her last visit with swelling in her eye that she was finally diagnosed with a pituitary tumor. She went blind at first, and was coping OK with that, but after a few weeks the tumor got worse and she was going steadily downhill. I came here with a heavy heart, knowing what needed to be done, and received very good advice and support.

At the beginning of last week, I took Job to her last vet visit. I sat in a room with her and waited, just the two of us, and for the first time in several days she got relaxed and came up onto my hand without getting scared, and then onto my shoulder and rested against my neck. I got a few final minutes with her at her sweetest, almost like she knew her pain would be over soon. It was a real blessing.

So thank you all; the rest of our flock remains... Buddy, Star and Dino and their cockatiel cousins of course. With luck I can find time to be a more frequent lurker here, and under some happier circumstances.

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a dearly loved pet is always extremely difficult. No matter their size or species, they always become part of the family and a huge part at that. I'm glad you had that precious moment with Job and I do hope that although sad, you're at peace knowing she's now flying free high over Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry to hear of your loss, but it was the kindest thing to do for your sweet girl

She obviously knew how much you loved her. Now she's free of pain and suffering.

Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Sorry for your loss, I know how you feel having recently lost my budgie. It may have been a tumour he had, I will never know but he wasn't responding to any medications my avian vet tried.

Please accept my condolences for your loss of Job. As painful as it is, it was sweet that she snuggled up to you. She knew she was loved, and gave you one last hug. I am so very sorry.

* I have moved this thread to the In Memory section.

You have my deepest sympathy.
Job is now happy, pain-free and fully sighted again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Time cannot steal the treasures
that we carry in our hearts.
Nor ever dim the shining thoughts
our cherished past imparts
For the memories of the ones
we loved still cast a gentle glow,
To grace our days and light
our paths, wherever we may go.

Fly high, Soar freely sweet Job; rest peacefully now darling girl.
