I don't come on here offen anymore because real life has gotten in the way. But tonight my flock suffered a loss. My Ginny passed away.
I have no idea what happened. She seemed fine earlier today, but this evening she started hanging onto the cage bars with her beak and wasn't flying away when I put my hand in the cage to give them veggies. She has always been afraid of me and has never been hand-tamed, so I was super surprised that she let me stroke her head a little bit. She climbed onto my hand and was just hanging out in my palm for a few minutes. Then she flew into the side of the cage, fell to the bottom, and started violently seizing. She died in my hands. Thankfully, she didn't suffer long.
I'm on my phone right now and I'm going to attach some pictures of her. I have no motivation to turn my computer on now, so I can't upload them properly. I may fix it tomorrow...
I don't know what to do. I think I'm just going to go to bed and worry about this in the morning.
I'm so very sorry about the loss of sweet Ginny. She obviously had a wonderful life with you and her budgie friends and was very loved. I'm glad she had you with her as she flew off over Rainbow Bridge.
Alyssa, I’m so sorry for your loss of Ginny. Many times with budgies it happens out of the blue, and we never know why. She is free from pain now and flying at Rainbow Bridge. In time, your sorrow will lift, and you’ll think of Ginny with only the sweetest of memories.
