Default Goodbye Mikica :(

This was a really sad weekend for me. My budgie Mikica was diagnosed with AGY and despite our best efforts he passed away yesterday.
He was our third budgie in a flock of four. We got him when he was just a chick and he was the most active budgie I've ever seen. He wouldn't stand still for a second! He wasn't tame like the others but he would also come to our hand or shoulders and sing. And he was flying non-stop! He was really bonded with our other male Teo and always followed him around. They would kiss and sing to each other. At one point they started to fight so I had to separate them and they were sad endlessly.
I always thought out all my budgies Mikica will live the longest, he was so full of life and energy. When our beloved Teo passed away, he started acting differently. He didn't chirp that much and wouldn't leave the cage for days. I hoped he would get used to living only with one budgie but he was really sad. I never thought a budgie could mourn like that.
We reacted at the first signs of illness and tried so hard to keep him with us but I felt like he's given up. Yesterday when I saw him so sad and sick I said my goodbyes and told him that we'll take care of his remaining friend and that he should go to be with his Teo. He died peacefully with his family and was burried yesterday next to his best friend.
My heart hurts really. After we lost Teo, who was truly our favorite I thought I would never feel that sad again but yesterday I felt like my heart was ripped out.
I loved them more than I can say and I can't imagine my days without them.
I hope my little Mikica finds peace and may he fly free and happy once again. I love you <3

I'm very sorry for your loss of Mikica.
It is because of Love we Grieve
and
Because of Love we are also comforted
in our Sorrow

In Memories, may you find Healing
In Time, may you find Peace
In the Power of Love, may you find Comfort
Fly high and soar freely little Mikica; rest in peace now, sweet boy.

I’m so sorry for your loss of Mikica . It’s so hard, but in time you will heal and have many sweet memories.

I really hope with time I'll heal, right now it's really hard, especially as I lost three of them in less than a year. We were really bonded. The other day at work I found a feather that I put in my wallet and started crying.
It's been especially difficult accepting the loss of this last one. He was always so strong, fast, energetic. All my other budgies had some days when they were not feeling well but he didn't stop jumping around since the moment we got him. I honestly believed he'll live for a very long time and in reality he was only 5 years and couple of months old

Grief is a very personal experience and each individual grieves in their own unique way. Striving to honor death as a part of the cycle of life may not diminish the pain and sorrow we feel when our loved one is no longer with us, yet it can help us accept that birth, life, and death is the way of all creation.

I believe during times of grief it is important to focus on the positives of the time spent with the beloved person or pet who has moved on in their journey.

Concentrating on gratitude for the blessings given through whatever amount of time one had with their loved one turns emotions away from feeling sorrow for one's self and brings the focus on the joys of the memories we shared. Although we miss having that person/pet as part of our day to day existence, and the time we had always seems too brief, giving thanks for the time we were given is the first step in healing the pain and sorrow.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Mikicia! I promise he's still with you, watching over you and the rest of your budgies

I can tell how much you cared for him. Rest in peace, sweet budgie boy

All my best to you during this difficult time. I'm always here if you need to talk to a fellow budgie person!

Thank you for your kind words!
I think you're right and no amount of time would be enough to spend with the ones we love. I still keep asking myself if there was a way to save him
And I'm so sad I'll probably never have a budgie again. My husband took their deaths really bad and doesn't want to have another pet.
