Default Lost Budgie Today

Heartwrenching seeing the poor thing die after 6 1/2 years......

Started Tuesday with Green Diarrhoea but still eating/drinking/flying and socialising with my male bird - woke up Wednesday Morning and the vomiting started - knew a visit to the vet was pending - decided to leave work early and came home and amazingly fast deterioation - the budgie could hardly move and lost all sense of strength with her body - vet inspected and thought bacterial infection - antibiotics and vitamins - over the next 2 days no improvement but no more deterioation - and the budgie began to eat the millet spray following the antibiotics and vitamins in the water - but still no sense of strength and constantly sleeping - along with green droppings......
sad end today - the budgie lost all strength in its body and feet and eventually fell asleep -

the amazing thing was the speed of decline over 21/2 days - from which started as green diarhoea - what i dont understand is for her age she was very fit - im assuming the bacterial infection ruined her internal organs for which increased the speed of decline?? anyone had similar experiences?

Next question is - my male bird (who has and is in a seperate cage) is obviously aware of the birds passing - i dont want lonlieness for him - as cruel as it sounds - should i consider getting a companion quite soon??

such a sad day for a brilliant creature - beautiful -

R.I.P Joey

I am so sorry for your loss... yes your budgie will be missing his friend. You can adopt another right away but please make sure to quarantine.
