So sorry to hear about Meep. He sounded a lovely little character. Hope your son is soon feeling better and makes friends with your two new characters. xxx

Oh I am so sorry to hear that Meep passed away, this brings many a tear to my eye

I hope that the pain passes for you soon, Meep will always be with you & your family in spirit watching over you all, and will be waiting for that day you are reunited.

He loves you as much as you love him

R.I.P Meep, you will be missed, fly high

Alas, I cannot stop weeping after reading all this.

I know I would be so devastated if something happened to my little one, I cant imagine

Good luck with your new ones, I hope they warm up and become little sweet hearts. Ya'll deserve the best =)

I'm saddened to read this about Meep, he sounded like a beautiful boy who was loved very much. I hope your new babies come around to loving you and your son very soon, things take time, patience is so important when trying to bond with these little one's..it will happen don't worry.

As for pictures of Meep, it's a lovely idea and something you will be proud of. It's hard to even look at pictures straight away, I know just how you feel, but it does get easier. It's been 4 months since I lost my beautiful Georgie and it was only yesterday that I could actually print out a photo of him to frame and I cried so much because I still and always will miss him....but looking at his picture helps me even more to remember the lovely memories I have of him

This is such a sad story. I hope it starts to hurt less soon.

Default Thank you

Thank you everyone. The hurt has lessened but the confusion is still there. My son who is now 5 is still wanting Meep to come back. I explain to him that we have two new babies who need(today will be 3) us and love us, but he doesn't like them. They are still not trained. We are working on them but its difficult, I hoping the new baby(a cockatiel) will help them realize that we are OK and won't hurt them. Our cockatiel was raised for my son and will be able to be handled immediatly. I am hoping Dooku and Vadar come around soon!! Its been over a month!! They have made no progress, they fly around like crazy birdies whenever I open the cage. They want nothing to do with the Millet Spray I hold, let alone my hand.

My condolences for your loss. I'm sure Meeps will always hold a special place in your hearts. It is natural for your son to still be mourning. He related to his bird as an individual, and individuals are not interchangeable. His attachment to Meeps seems a positive sign that the therapy was effective.
I'm sure the cockatiel will be more ready to bond than the bin-o-budgie birds. I have a pair of b-o-bs who love each other and can care less about me, though I talk and sing to them every day. In my brief experience, and from what I have been advised on this forum, single birds are easier to bond with than pairs (who have each other for playtime and affection).
Good luck and all the best.

Yeah I was told the pair would be more difficult but I didnt think it would be THIS difficult. I feel bad for them because they dont even want to come out of their cage for play time. I dont like my birds being cage bound.
