Default Rest In Peace Aria

Here's my pre-story: https://talkbudgies.com/newreply.php?...ote=1&p=660059

I had my mom take my Aria to the vet for me because I had to work. Turns out she has a bacterial infection, a very bad infection that was going on for awhile. The bulge above her vent was from fluid buildup the vet said. She tried to tell me Aria was a male, I told her how to sex budgies. Sad huh. My mom brought her to me and I was able to give her, her first dose of medication. She said she'd put a lamp on for me.

When I get home I go to give Aria her second dose of meds. I look over and the lamp is off and Aria is on the floor dead. I was in shock. I knew she was sick, but I felt I had a fighting chance. I figured my mom took the light off cuz she died.

I had no time to do anything but wrap her up and put her aside for later because I promised my mom if she took Aria to the vet I would babysit for her. (She watches my niece and nephew) I cried all the way to my brothers house. There are some birds you do develop more of an attachment to and Aria broke my heart.

My mom calls hours later and says do you have a light bulb for the lamp for your bird. So I tell her it don't matter she is dead. (Really mom? You said you'd put in a lamp and are too lazy to do it and wait HOURS!) Then she mentioned the smoke smell in her car... I forgot about that. So now I'll never know if she had a fighting chance if I took her myself or not. Did she die early because of those fumes, probably.

I'm just sad and angry. She had a bacterial infection and it's my fault because it's enviromental. I did something wrong but I don't know what. She seemed fine till Friday night. She went down fast. My mom... well yeah I'm angry. Don't tell me you'll put on a light and wait hours. Then say your sorry, your not sorry. I really wanted YF babies from her...

hno: I'm just so angry and sad... Sorry to rant.

Oh no Teasha! I'm so sorry. It must be so hard to loose a budgie you were close to. I don't think I even want to imagine like without Louis. I hope you'll be okay soon, all the other budgies will need you!

Fly free Aria!

So sorry to hear this Teasha.. Don't blame yourself; you don't know for sure if taking her to the vet on your own would have made a difference. Perhaps it was just her time to let go.

I am so sorry to hear about this Teasha I was following your other thread anxiously to see what would happen.
Please don't blame yourself. You took immediate action as soon as you noticed something is off.
