I write with great sadness, only 4 days ago I posted an update on my chicks who were all thriving.
Here is a picture of Geoffrey 4 days ago:
When I took the clutch out to clean their feets and beaks on Saturday, this is how I found Geoffrey. His crop was full, but he felt really strange, sounds stupid, but he felt really warm but 'dry' I know they are dry but his skin felt all strange, he was still really active trying to climb out of the bowl, I can't describe it sorry. What concerned me was how purple his tummy was.
When I checked in on Sunday morning, I found Geoffrey had died.
His siblings are still doing well and mum is showing signs of mourning, where she would let me stroke her whilst she was in the box, she is now really aggressive with me - perhaps it's because I was the one to take Geoffrey away after he had passed over.
Fly high my sweet little chick, I'm sorry I couldn't I couldn't do more for you.
