Default Flown Away; Nibbles, Bluebird & Bambam

This afternoon I came home to horrible news; looks like my little brother left the aviary open last night. Five budgies flew out. We were very lucky in that one of them was Pickles, a very friendly budgie, attached to me and a big person lover, so he flew through the open front door into the house this morning so my parents became aware and caught him. They caught one other outside, I believe it was Pocket.

Unfortunately, the others got away. Nibbles, Bluebird and Bambam.

I haven't given up, while they don't seem to be on our property the 8 budgies currently in the aviary might lure them back; a couple are missing their partners. I'll also put out some food and everything, ask my neighbor to keep an eye out on his farm and put up some notices, though we live in a very rural area. With some luck I could get them back.

I am sorry, but don't give up. I got budgies back twice!!!
One budgie got away from my mother when I was a child. We had put an ad in the paper, and the bird was returned. The second one was turned into a shelter...and I got him back.
I hope you will get a happy end too.

Sigrid

Thank you all. I really hope they do get back, and I am certainly not giving up. Twice before I have gotten budgies back, though I haven't lost any for years aside from poor Mercury a few weeks ago. What bad luck, four in a few weeks. Nibbles and Mercury are two of the ones I have closest bonds with, and all four have always been very popular among all the other birds, none of them are very happy about missing their friends/partners. I can't get notices up until tomorrow, I just hope that's soon enough.

I don't know that it WAS a budgie, as every bird I've seen since yesterday I've been hoping was one of them, but I saw a small blue and white bird a couple of hours ago, looked like Nibbles or Bluebird, but didn't get a good look as the wind started blowing and the bird turned and flew the other way, can't find it now.
